So I tried two new things today...

Nasel snuff, for the first time, and....*gulp* dip. *shudders*

Let me start by saying this. In MY opinion, dip is TERRIBLE. I tried Redman fine cut Natural dip, since I was with a friend of a friend and he made me a bet. He would try snus if I tried his dip. After 20 seconds of it in my bottom lip, I was grabbing water to flush it out of my mouth. Ironically the friend asked for seconds on snus...go figure. Dip burned my lip. Not tingle...like a strong Extra Sterk snus...it BURNED. It was painful. And I tasted some unknown substances in that...it was NOT pure tobacco. Afterwards, I had to put in a prilla of General Original Los right after to regain what little was left of my taste buds.
Now, I'm not knocking dip users at all but...I hated it. What do you guys see in dip thats so amazing? Is it an acquired taste? I liked snus the first time I tried it..hands down. Dip...I doubt I could bring myself to try it. It even gave me a headache....something no tobacco has done since I tried to smoke a Fuente Opus X on an empty stomach. Can you all tell me why you think it's so good?

Secondly, Nasel snuff. Not something I plan to use alot but FAR better than dip. I got a can of something called "Railroad Mill sweet scotch dry snuff". I'm pretty sure this is a low end brand. Surprisingly, the aroma was actually nice, and it didn't burn like I thought it would. I may use it more often, after I carefully observe it's effects on me. Otherwise I liked it.
Can anyone recommend a nasel snuff thats top notch and wont cost me an arm and a leg? I'd like to try the real deal, but Notherner seems to not have any ever (or else they can't sell it to me?).
Anyway there are my thoughts on today. Insights?

Lord Spencer you really grabbed a tiger by the tail with RR mills it is good don't get me wrong. Some people take to dry snuff right of the bat, I did not.
    http://snuffhouse.org/discussions

That site you can fet a lot of insight into snuffing, also to suppliers which will not let You down.
Also Toque snuff is very good and new person user freindly.
I use snuff and snus like a feind, they help each other get the job done but really either one can do it by themselves. I just like them both and don't want either to get upset.

Hope you enjoy the ride but hang on tight here and over there both places will help you get started..

Dip is good. Can't touch a good snus but still, it serves it's purpose. It satisfies better than snus IMO. Way bigger buzz. And the spitting is enjoyable at times.

I wouldn't call RR Mills a low end snuff. Not my favorite, but it's the quality equal of other American snuffs. The problem is it isn't a beginners snuff by any stretch. IME, American snuffs are the hardest to take right, and are punishing of poor technique. You should try some English and German snuffs. It's a whole different world. My favorite Americans are Tube Rose for sweet, and WE Garrett for a smoky scotch. They aren't any easier to use than RR Mills, but the scent is fantastic.

Dip? Meh... Second rate flavor, with the added inconvenience of spitting. I have no use for dip. If I want to spit, I'll use leaf chew. Nice flavor for occasional OUTDOOR use.

I'm a big fan of dip. Probably because while working on the rigs to save up money for an education (thanks Mom and Dad for not having a college fund for me) I had to use dip because well can't smoke on a drilling rig (In Canada anyway i have been on many sites in the States where they just don't care). It took me a while to really enjoy dip, just like smoke you have to condition your self. Snus was love at first taste. If i wasn't a dipper prior it would have taken awhile to really appreciate it. I understand your opinion on dip, there is a very artificial/chemical flavour to it. If you started on the good stuff first then dip would taste like crap (like you have).

As stated the nic hit with dip is alot better, probably due to the massive 25 gram plus dips most people take. A 25 gram plus prilla of snus would make you sick!

I do agree with lxskllr on the snuff info he provided. The German snuffs are very nice for beginners. They are not really as dry as an American snuff. The drier snuff is the harsher it will feel in your nose. Plus the American sniff provide a harder nic hit (from what i have found).
