    I'm confused.

    So why does Northerner.com charge such high tobacco taxes when ordering from the E.U warehouse?

    Northerner is in the EU and so is Romania..................

    I still don't get this.

    Sweds don't pay such taxes and they're in the E.U......a can starts at $2

    Romanians are in the E.U and we do pay taxes... something's ****ed up

      When you used to be able to order from Northerner's Swedish warehouse to another EU country you were basically paying what it would have cost to buy it in Sweden plus postage. The Swedes do pay high taxes on their snus (Swedish Tobacco Tax and EU Sales Tax)

          Within the EU, you pay tax at the point of sale - so you pay the rate of tax in that country.

          @Paul - from what I'm reading UK customs don't hold things for long - I hope it's the same for you in Portugal. There might even be a limit under which they don't even check.
          I always put in an order when I've got a roll left, just in case.

            The braindeads at the EU obviously haven't thought about their carbon policy - listen to this.

            My snus used to travel 900 miles.

            It now travels 7,480 miles to get to me - and it's probably going to be half the price.

            Twats.

              Both from England, Norway, Italy ......... The customs can find whatever reason to have anyone checked (imagine that 30 rolls of tobacco is a serious issue loooooool 15 kg of tobacco)
              Is snus illegal in EU or just forbidden to sell? You are still legally able to posses it so I don´t know what customs should do about it, it´s already taxed and VAT paid in EU??

              So they can´t do anything as long as it´s for you´r personal consumtion??

                    Now this is a really positive note during a rather depressing weekend. I look forward to Monday's announcement.

                        Out of curiosity I checked this website on U.K customs.

                        http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/arriving/arrivingeu.htm

                        It esentailly says yo can bring an unlimited amount of tobacco from an EU country as long as it´s been taxed in the country of purchase.

                        Arrivals from EU countries

                        When arriving into the UK from an EU country you can bring in an unlimited amount of most goods.

                        For excise goods such as alcohol and tobacco, there are no restrictions. However you must meet the conditions below:

                        * You transport the goods yourself.
                        * The goods are for your own use or as a gift. If the person you give the goods to pays you in any way (including reimbursing you for any expenses or payment in kind), then it's not a gift and the goods may be seized.
                        * The goods are duty and tax paid in the EU country where they were acquired.

                        If you don't meet these conditions, the goods (and any vehicle that transported them) may be seized.

                        You can read more about Excise Duty in the guide 'Customs Duty, Excise Duty and Import VAT: introduction'. You'll find a link to this at the end of the page.

                        Customs checks when coming from the EU

                        If a customs official from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) thinks you may be bringing in excise goods such as alcohol and tobacco from the EU for commercial use - perhaps to sell to other people or simply for reimbursement - they may ask you questions and make checks. You may be asked about:

                        * the type and quantity of goods you've bought
                        * why you bought them
                        * how you paid for them
                        * how often you travel
                        * how much you normally smoke or drink

                        Although there are no limits on the amount of alcohol and tobacco you can bring in from EU countries, customs officials are more likely to ask you questions if you have more than:

                        * 3,200 cigarettes
                        * 200 cigars
                        * 400 cigarillos
                        * 3kg of tobacco
                        * 110 litres of beer
                        * 90 litres of wine
                        * 10 litres of spirits
                        * 20 litres of fortified wine (for example port or sherry)

                        If the UKBA is satisfied that the goods are for a commercial purpose it may seize them and any vehicle used to transport them, and may not return them to you. You can find out more in the guide 'What to do if your goods are seized by customs' under 'More useful links'.

                        So just keep the receipt from purchase to prove you have paid taxes and say it´s for six month personal consumption when flying into the U.K and a suitcase full of goodies.

                        I´d definately fly to Gothenburg from London for £100 and then go to Snus2 store and fill up.

                        Cheers

                          As long as it's tobacco it can't be illegal to posses. Just that it's illegal to sell.

                          bastards.

                            * 3kg of tobacco
                            Basically we can order from U.S but then we would be charged taxes.

                            No problems. That's what I wanted to know. If I can order more than 1KG .... taxes aren't a problem here since I can easily tip off the custom officer .....

                            last time I received a larger order from the U.S, I presented a $7 bill, instead of a $120 one loool
