I just don't understand why we weren't given any advance warning of this. At least then we would have been able to stock up. Luckily I have a couple of rolls left to tide me over for a little while.

There was intentionally no advanced warning. No one saw this coming. The phones only started ringing late Friday night your time. I don't know how Finland and the EU pulled this off and on what legal basis, but they sure don't care about giving EU snusers the courtesy of allowing them to stock up.

So this is all because a Finnish cancer organisation filed a suit against a snus store selling to Finland, and won? Suddenly Snus is some kind of evil drug that requires dawn raids and asset seizures?? This is totally bonkers. I'm struggling to believe it. Why don't they just look at the published research? Oh wait it causes pancreatic cancer, oh no, hang on, it only causes that if you cook the books and cherry pick test groups depending on whether they show an increased risk. This whole thing is bollocks.

In the article written on SnusCentral they say they have banned snus for a few charges made by Finland lately ..... saying that snus causes cancer and they won the suits I wonder if that's the only reason behind the ban ..... or are they just afraid of losing millions of cigarette customers across the E.U. countries..... ?!

iF it were so, then I'd laugh so bad, the U.S has 40 million smokers now if not more.... why not ban SNUS in the U.S. if the tobacco companies were so afraid of losing profits? I think it's pathetic, just to sum it all up I am pretty annoyed that the European Union has even been created in the first place..........

Every single country in the E.U is complaining about a worser economy than a few years back when they were just planning E.U.........

Wait to see the disaster happen when they introduce the EURO in Romania and a few other countries in the Balkans ........ people will be literally starving ......

Well, it's been fun knowing you my good friend Swedish snus. You've given me many years of enjoyment and kept me off the cigs but I guess it's time to bid you a fond farewell and start to look to phase you out.

I just don't think the financial risk involved with importing you internationally is viable.

I guess I'll have to see if I can kick my nic habit cutting you down gradually until my stash is gone and if not it's back to NRT and cigs for me. Nice one EU

Alright...........Iv'e read through about 3 pages of this post so far..................AND IT REALLY SUCKS

Here are my thoughts

1) buy from US and see how it goes

2) Go to Sweden, buy the snus, take it to a Swedish post office and mail it back home

3) The Snus auction might be a safer and less expensive way to go. PP has already started. Maybe a few more of us can jump in and help.

On a positive note...........this might inspire several of the brands not registered with the FDA to redgister............................ and those who need to rebrand to reband................ b/c now their market has been reduced to just Sweden (where unless you are Swedish Match......................you are way down on the list).
