Stats through Tuesday reveal 49% of all murder victims are involved with drug use and/or drug sales. The figure is 53% for murder suspects.

That article is nothing more than a "Reefer Madness" inspired propaganda piece. They're blaming a few cases of loony psychos (that happened to use drugs, including cannabis). I could point out an endless amount of cases where I could say alcohol was the cause of schizophrenia, but that doesn't mean alcohol will turn you into a schizophrenic (or bat shit crazy in other ways).

The only problem is that no-one can come up with exact statistics on how many people do actually go bad shit (psychotic) from certain drugs...

Simply because most of them don't use just one drug (they use combinations of one or more drugs at one time) and not only but you'd have to actually take lets say 500,000 heroine users world-wide, and test them after 5 - 10 - 15 - 20 years to see if they got psychosis from heroine (which in most cases is a hard task to do) Not sure how many of these researches have been put together till date.......... but there are some numbers ...look it up on google...

Most cases of schizofrenia I've been reading about (by the way schizofrenia is a mental illness that usually is triggered in the teen years at most 26/28 ..... rarely later than 30..... ) were about young people in their 20's that haven't been on drugs heavily ...........
