and i told him do you want to show to EU palament how mad thay are at you then i will give you email address to them and they will show you what is real avalansh

I haven't had time to read through this full thread but I know some UK members where wary about ordering from the US. I regularly order dip from Northerner but I keep my orders small but the relatively cheap cost of shipping means I can make multiple orders and keep within the £18 VAT allowance. Excise duty is NOT payable on snus or dip
I have read the Tobacco Products Order 2003 and IMO it seems this could apply to dip also as it cannot be chewed. The first quote is directly from HMRC.

As oral snuff is not for smoking, the only product type that comes close is chewing tobacco which is included through section 1(1)(e). Section 8 of the order describes chewing tobacco as a tobacco product which doesn’t come under any of the other descriptions and has been prepared so that it can be chewed. The next quote is from a government body describing chewing tobacco products.

(b) consists of or includes tobacco, and

So it seems to me that dip falls outside of this description and should fall within the snus description.
Even if customs stop a package if it is below the £18 VAT allowance it will go through without charge. Beware if you do go over the limit like I have occasionally you will be charged VAT at 20% which isn't too bad but watch the bastards at the Post Office who will kindly slap on between £8 and £ 10 "handling fee" even if your VAT only comes to a couple of £'s
