I stopped smoking 48h ago and I would like to taste various portions brands/flavors.

I haven't known snus.de to take on new people for a long time now, many have sent referrals but they have come to nothing. Also I hear they only stock V2 now so the other options available carry a greater range.

The last I heard (about 2 or so weeks back) was that basically the status quo for snus would hold. No new restrictions (e.g. no flavor ban for Swedish made snus) but also no lifting of the current restrictions.

I also understood that it had made it through a good bit of the process and would be voted on by the general EU parliament in September (I think I am remembering this correctly......either that or it had one more committee to pass through) Regardless, each move up the chain make substantive changes to the bill less likely.

which if put into effect would prohibit e500- sodium carbonate, an acidity regulator .
Apparently the motivation behind this is that no additives should be permitted in tobacco products
that increase their nicotine potency. Unfortunatley e500 is the ingredient which allows the nicotine in snus
to be absorbed by the user, so..... no e500 virtually no nicotine uptake from snus, which makes it pretty useless
this is just what i read on snuscentral and also on Christopher Fjellners' blog

Thanks for the heads up bro....I did not see that......I'll go check it out.

However, my gut is that this is just a political PR stunt........a test dummy to gauge reaction...........if it were real they would have moved just to ban snus (which this would do).

That said, banning e500 is not the same thing as banning all additives that free Nicotine....just one of the main ones.......however, one chemist adding a benign molecule of X to the compound thus creating e501 and you are back in business.....

So this seems either a water testing PR stunt or an attempt to hassle..........regardless....either way it does not seem like a serious minded attempt to end snus...........my bet is that it does not fly
