I have found that porters/stouts go very well with General Onyx.

Well I have an apartment in the city now and we just moved in a couple of weeks ago, so when we got good and settled in, we decided to go down to Ava's Village Pub which is less than a mile down the road from our new place. I had a tin of my usual favorite, Lucky originals. I ordered my personal favorite beer, Miller Lite, and popped in a Lucky. Nice combo. I was suprised at how nicely they accomodated each other. Heavenly duo.

I'm fond of Grolsch lager, and I find that Ettan loose compliments it nicely. I usually keep it to three pints, and I have a couple pris over a couple hours.

Fully agree, definitely a combination to go with it! 8)

I've recently tried a Taboca portion with a German Bit Pilsener. Excellent!

I'm having a pris of Gellivare and a Pilsener right now and it's nothing to write home about.
Skruf Stark and Ettan are good matches, both as portions and Lös.
Tre Ankare really compliments the Pilsener taste, but is a little weak for the extra nicotine urge I get when drinking. Good old Diplomat was nice company to good beer, too. *sigh*
Lucky Strike seems to go with anything that is NOT sweet, so it should fit as well. I'm gonna give it try right after this pris, I think.

But if you're looking for a match that blows you away, try General Lös with a Scotch highball with Coke. (Hope that's the right expression?)
                  4cl of Scotch + 16cl of Coke = Heaven. :!:
(Though I'd recommend a 2/18-ratio if you're planning to be the last man standing...)

Had a portion of Lucky Strike in with a Pabst Blue Ribbon over the weekend, not a bad combo...

well summers here, so summer brews will have those citrusy notes and clean finish that wont overpower snus.

the ultra hoppy double-ipa's etc that are in vogue right now never fail to dominate any snus, no matter what the flavor

im having a Magic Hat Hocus Pocus right now (summery) (if any of you are vermonters you probably know) but all i have are grov and nick and johnny--id like to try a more flowery snus with it. the nick and johnny is actually overpowering the beer--imagine that!

I'm surprised some of you have said you dislike the citrus mixed with beer. I don't have tons of experience with snus yet, but I think the standard General portions are fantastic with beer. Generally I drink very cheap ghetto fabulous beer that tastes like crap, but is highly alcoholic and gets the job done. It could be that any flavor at all makes that stuff good, I dunno. But I find the salt and lemony after taste to compliment it very well.

Maybe if I were drinking a beer that actually tasted good it might interfere with it.. but for my standard Steel Reserve (1.5 pints per can at 8% alc, baby!) General portions are excellent. Unlike the original poster I'm not afraid of my ghetto beer leanings. It takes a strength of character to drink something so bad! 8)

I like a citrus snus with beer also. Gotlands Gul lös is my favorite beer snus I think.

Citrus can go with some beers. Citrus has just never done it for me with a pilsner. Steel reserve... I havent willingly drank something like that since my college days.

Haha, yeah. Fun thing about it is about halfway through the can you can't taste it anymore anyway. By your second, it could be water. Which is not the case with good ol' Natty :P

I'm definitely developing a taste for General being mixed with my beer though. I took a sip last night before I popped in the portion and it was bad. >.<

Hell man... If you're drinking Steel Reserve, you could probably garnish the can with a cat turd and the taste would improve

Now some Mickeys is decent... It actually tastes like a somewhat decent malt lager.

If I want any malt anything these days, I'll reach for a Stella.

(sidenote, I am in no way trying to put down your tastes... most think my choice snus flavors are as good as poop in a can)
