Here in Norway, we are not allowed to import ANY tobacco without special permits.
But then again, we are not in the EU.
Guys in Sweden can order online snuff/snus but we can't. ARGH!
Anyways my questions is, I am going to Sweden this saturday to "shop" snus and cheap meat ect ect ect.
Anyone know how much tobacco I am allowed to carry back in to Norway?

If someone from UK has been keen to read correctly the HM Revenue & Customs would have found this:
Tax and duty on goods brought to the UK from outside the European Union
- Tobacco allowances
- You can bring in one from the following list:
- 200 cigarettes
- 100 cigarillos
- 50 cigars
- 250g of tobacco
and 50 grams of tobacco through packages
more here http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/arriv...ivingnoneu.htm
these are the laws.
What muddy has been saying above ONLY APPLIES FOR GOODS BROUGHT FROM OUTSIDE EU.
P.S the same laws apply on tobacco products all across E.U.

If you're traveling by ferry on the way back it's ten cans. But if you take the old road from Sweden they mostly never stop you so most people fill their cars up. (says my sister currently visiting from Norway.)

because if you cross this mark then they are legally able to take your goods. (I wouldn't risk it)

First off, it isn't very productive arguing with each other. We're all in the same boat here(even us Americans), and we need to stick together.
Second... I don't think it matters what the law says. What matters is how each individual customs agent interprets the law. If you argue with them, they'll just tell you to **** off. They're the kings of their special little dung heap. The only recourse would be to lawyer up,, and I know I don't have the extra money to fight over principle. The point? I don't know. Just keep your head down, make creative orders, and hope for the best.

The E.U law clearly states: (and that applies to any country in the E.U be it Romania, UK and the rest
1 - If you happen to order tobacco products online you are not allowed to bring in more than 25 cigarillos, 10 cigars, 10 packs of cigarettes or attention 50 grams of any other type of tobacco. (I've stayed there 1 hour in debates to clarify this) 50 grams of tobacco (it can be chew, snus, or dip)
2- if you happen to go overseas and come back with tobacco for personal use in the E.U you are not allowed to bring in more than 250 grams of tobacco of any kind (that includes dip, chew or snus)
The same legislation applies all over E.U
Moreover the legislation he had in hand which was updated as of March 2011 had nothing in it that stated SNUS was not to be sold in the EU. (but 50 grams)
Seemingly the legislation wasn't changed much since he showed me some of the previous legislation in the E.U and even started getting nervous at some point because I was trying to ask him to give me the tobacco ....... but he did (LUCKY ME) corrupt country somehow....
CRETE - I am enjoying a large pinch of Skoal XTRA in your honor ! :^)
Do you remember the reference number of the law this guy showed you. I would like to take a look at the law itself.
Here is my initial take
Romanian customs has updated Romanian policy in keeping with the Finish ruling-- thus the March date (I know he told you this was EU wide but to date we just don't have any evidence that there has been any modification to EU law. If there has been a modification or not the EU law will be public information. Can anybody track down a link to the official EU law? That would be very helpful.
Second, he told you he was supposed to confiscate your order. Did you actually read that in the law? My point being these numbers seem like duty lines on goods permissible for import but taxable (apart from which duty the good is to be confiscated).
Third, why was he hesitant to show you a law that is both public and international? There is the possibility you got punked..........I mean here is a guy that is willing to take a "gift" so you can get your snus. Why not show you something that makes that gift.........well...........seem necessary.
Regardless there are thing here that need a little more clarification. You may be exactly right. But I would still like to see the bridge connected in the middle so to speak before we declare this river to be forged.
Again no need to respond in big bold. your posts have been helpful.
Instead what I think we need at this point is for someone to track down the on line EU trade law regarding tobacco.
Second, I think it would be useful to ask UPS for a link to their current EU shipping policies/restrictions for tobacco products.
If someone can just get these two links we will be well on our way.
I will be in and out for a good part of the day or I would hunt them down myself. If no one has located them by tonight.......I will see what I can do...........but I think it will probably be easier for a person in the EU to at least get us to the door of the local pub so to speak. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
