I'm starting to switch over to loose I think...

Now I have a big order coming Monday with 16 tins of portion and only 1 loose...but lately I've been using my General Loose a LOT more often than when I first got it. It went from 1-2 pris a day to about 3-5.

I like handbaking it, the feel of it under my lip, the aroma, the taste, the nic hit seems stronger than portions and you can control the amount of tobacco per prilla.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have a portion in at work or out and about to avoid the risk of a mudslide but at home I'd much rather have a nice pris.

The only tin of loose I got in my current order is a tin of Offroad Frosted Los...maybe I can trade someone a few tins of Offroad Frosted OP for any type of loose?

Loose is THE reason I came to snus. I never liked portioned dip (except for Renegades back in the day, don't think you can get them any more). When I did some researching (on this site) and found out it came in a loose form just like my beloved Copenhagen I was sold. Portions have there place.......but for me, LOS wins 95% of the time.

I was the same way. I started with portions and yeah they were good and all but they just weren't "there" for me. I was a smoker and had never dipped or chewed but had been using nasal snuff to try to quit. Anyway I decided on a whim to try a can of general loose. That was pretty much the end of it. Portions are around, but mostly ignored. Day in and day out it is loose for me all the time.

I quit smoking with dip but hated spitting all the time. I tried portions once otlr twice but really did not like the way it felt and the lack of control of the amount I was using.

        Enter the los....awesomeness...

The control, and in a way the los itself in the hassle, but the simplicity, and in the ritual of it, well it does a great job replacing smoking IMO.

I started off with portions and still use them daily and at work. When I am at home you will more than likely find me using lös more than anything. I dunno, something manly about having lös in versus a portion.

Los is definitely the more authentic experience, comprising flavor and texture. My only problem: portions are far more convenient. I used to switch between portions and los throughout the day, but I usually end up in situations that require the use of portions -- consequently, the can of los would dry out, rendering it devoid of flavor and moisture. For now, I will stick with portions indefinitely.

Get an Icetool. Pack it tightly against the lid of the can. Viola - no mudslide. I can keep an Icetool portioned prilla in for at least an hour and a half before it starts breaking up. Don't be afraid to los in public. Forget this "portions are safer in public" nonsense. There is always a restroom nearby where you can dump your pris.

I don't want to spend 40 bucks for one right now, maybe sometime later on I'll get around to ordering one.

I hand bake and depending on the los and how I do it I can get anywhere from 1-2 hours on a prilla easily.

If you want one, go the ghetto route at first. I tried it, found I still preferred hand baking. For me hand baking is a better overall lip and gum feel.

Yeah I haven't had any issues with handbaking either. Can make a great one within 30 seconds and have no problems leaving it in for 1+ hours.

Now you just gotta master pinch and toss and you are good to go.

I've not tried the Los yet. I'm sort of afraid to. What if I really love it and all the snus i have in the freezer gets neglected?! I think I'd enjoy the ritual aspect of it though.
