Phantom Classic - Blue Portion

I will start this off by saying that I know mostly everyone is going to think that they know what I am about to say... "Man, this shit was awful"... Not the case (if you want that reaction, see my N&J East review).

Phantom Classic Blue...

The tin is your typical black, plastic v2 tobacco can with no portion disposal area. Nothing fancy. The blue label makes me want to wear womens panties and sing "The crying game"... Not really, but whatever. The can is black with a blue phantom label.

On to the snus.

The portion material is the same as all other v2 products (has never been a complaint of mine, but has been of others). Initially, upon opening the can and sticking my nose in it, it basically smelled like a mix of juniper and herbs (Again, like the N&J, it was warm and had been in the mailbox all day).

The snus has next to no tobacco taste (no v2 house flavor, no phantom taste). It simply tastes and smells like a very mild juniper/herbal blend. It is almost like aroma-therapy for your tastebuds. The flavor is not candy, nor is it overpowering in any way, shape, or form.

This snus is actually quite pleasant. It is mellow, has a nice flavor, and has the typical nicotine content of any other original portion snus. It hardly seems to run, just a nice release of flavor.

I read your N&J East review, too . Hope your next portion isn't as rough as the first one. Does the box slide open? It looks similar to the Marlboro snus box that slides open...

Seems I got a new inexpensive snus to go buy/try. Thanks for the review. How long does the flavor last? This has always been a concern of mine when buying V2 tobacco.

I havent had an issue w/ flavor not lasting w/ other v2 brands, so I do not know how to answer that question. I kept the portion in for about 30 mins and it was still quite flavorful (though mellow as I mentioned before). I tossed the portion so that I could go back and revisit the N&J.

OK, so the regular Phantom was the most God awful junk I have ever had. Worse then Level even. And you are saying the Blue is good, not anything like it's brother?? Who would have thunk. LOL

Guess, I will have to try some next time I order.

To go back to the question about how long the flavor lasted; I had another portion last night while playing some warcraft. Had it in for over an hour before I pulled it to go to bed. It still had nice flavor when I took it out.

Thanks for the review. I'm getting a tin of this for the sole reason that buysnus.com offered it to me as a bonus gift, and it was either that or a sticker.

Now I'm actually looking forward to trying it a little bit.

I have a free tin of the blue coming with my roll of Lucky's. I hope the blue in nothing like the regular portions. Not usable to me. The jury is out.

I've had Phantom Loose before. I had one pris and put it right in the trash.

I went to take a portion of this last night and noticed something that I hadnt noticed before... The can looked VERY full even after I had spent several portions. I decided to count the remaining portions in the can and found about 26 remaining. This means that this one can probably had about ~35 portions in it :shock:

Funny, because after first reading this thread, I counted my tin too, and had 26. The herbal flavors were really pretty good, but I gave it away after having 3 or 4 of them, because it's not N&J, and I still have about 12 cans of my beloved N&J left.

Wow, a V2 product that I like. Never thought I'd see the day.

Phantom Blue portions are really decent. I'm going to wait to work my way through the can (wouldn't be the first time that I've enjoyed a flavor for a few days, then got sick to death of it), but I think I'll be ordering a roll with my next order.

Am I the only one that tastes lime as the most noticable flavor in Phantom Blue? Not a fake-candy-flavored lime, but a taste that reminds me of how a fresh lime smells. Maybe lime oil/zest or something?

Anyway, it's definitely missing that fake-sweetened whang of flavor that I associate with various V2 products. Thank God. The color of their portions still bothers me a little (I can't explain why), but I think Phantom Blue is a real winner.

V2 is definitely on the right track here. This is a nice product (without an overwhelming flavor) that I could actually enjoy daily.
