This is also an example of what happens when governments cannot enforce the laws already on the books, ie PACT. They just pass more restrictive laws.

Did Maryland join the EU? What is wrong with our country? Wouldn't a law like that be interfering with interstate commerce especially if it is being shipped from PA? This is starting to get old. Everyday our freedoms are being eroded and the federal government or local politicians could care less. It would not surprise me in the least if some big tobacco company lobbied on behalf of this.

Here is some more info from a pipe tobacco site but it looks official. Perhaps we can contact our legislators seeing that we were so successful in swaying their votes against PACT. This is really starting to suck and you know this will spread to other states if it is unchecked. I can't buy a tin of snus anywhere near my house but there are 2 "medical" marijuana clinics less than 10 minutes away.

Maryland state ban, 1st May
Due to new regulations in the state of Maryland we are unable to sell tobacco products to customers as of 1st May.

I'm sure all the foreign sellers will sell to MD. The question is will it actually make it to my door? I'm sitting on a nice cache, and I'll order tobacco seeds some time this year. It's time for Maryland to return to it's tobacco growing roots :^)

Yea, there's a lot of options really. We're fortunate in that we aren't surrounded by fail like you guys are. It isn't a terribly long travel to get to a better purchasing location, and not much of it is outright banned. Besides that, MD is historically one of the best tobacco growing areas worldwide. Granted, I'm not in the best part of MD for that, but I think I'll do well enough ;^)
