I left the hotel and found a fridge. You do indeed get a free prismaster along with a pamphlet telling the history of ettan, how to hand bake, and how to use a portion tool. Instead of baking a prilla it says "how to pack your pinch" and refers to ettan as "the most satisfying dipping experience" but wtf ever....its here and $3.29 a can! Now time to crack one of these puppies and give it the taste test! Oh and typing on the Droid blows!

Let us know how it goes, I'm quite interested it myself, if there is any noticeable difference from the original.

Interesting they should mention dip in the pamphlet... not too sure I like the way they are coming at this, either way I would love to walk across the street and buy a can.

That's good news though. Glad they didn't change it specifically for the American market. I know it was said before it would be the same, I just wanted to make sure.

Now go back to the store and buy the entire contents of the fridge... so we can all enjoy Ettan at local tobacco shops

I bought 5 Los and 3 portions and the fridge probably had 5 Los missing already.

What did you pay, and is the tin still paperboard?

Ahh yes, forgot to ask about the cardboard. Hopefully not, but not a big deal either way for me anyway.

$3.29 per can. Cans are identical other than the label and lack of Northerner add on stickers.

Can't beat the price. I'm indifferent on paper vs plastic. I have a mild preference for paperboard, but plastic would keep better, especially with uncertain sales numbers. Tins could be sitting around for awhile.

I was less interested in this a week ago than I am now. Looks like I'll have the extensive selection of General and Ettan in my future :^S Every day that goes by makes growing/making my own more attractive. Maybe I can start bootlegging, and selling snus from the back of a truck :^D

Visiting my girlfriend's family in the Pittsburgh area. Just found Ettan at the Cogo on Carson at 24th.

Would love to see this reach the current level of popularity in the US that General enjoys -- that is, at least one vendor in most decent-sized cities.

However, at the price my local tobacconist charges for General (something around $6.50,) it's a much better deal for me to just order a few rolls at a time online. Not sure if they offer a discount if purchased by the roll -- I'll ask about that, but it'd have to be to the tune of ~$40 or less to be worth it.

I bought 4 cans (3 los {snuff} and 1 portion {pouches}) and my total was just over $14. SM USA said this phase of the trial was supposed to last until the end of the year, perhaps after that they'll add more markets.
