    Occasional use for concentration/focus?

Anyone else out there with no actual nicotine addiction find that a rare dose of vitamin N is pretty helpful when you've got a bit of work ahead of you especially in the afternoon/evening?

I've had no more than one per day, and not more than 3 per week. I first tried it a while ago & left it in far too long, i have since found that 15-20 min wakes me up and sharpens my mind beautifully. Helpful during finals week at university, when things are more relaxed I have no desire for it.

Also, any suggestions about how to go about storing a can of portions, when it'll last you weeks to months? I've not been able to find general locally, so my current (also, first, and mostly still full) can of skoal has been living in a plastic bag in cool but not refrigerated conditions for a month and a half or so.

If you do not have an addiction to tobacco do not start using it.

Tobacco is something not to be messed with and most people wind up with a life long addiction.

Try something else that doesn't have the addictive quality of tobacco.

    I wish I never started.

    Lots of people do.

But I am here to minimize the risk of my addiction and not go back to smoking....as many of us are.

It is not worth the money, time or health risks.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

      smells of seeking for approval

Seriously though, you will start using more and more and more, until you are shoving chapstick sized pinches of Odens extreme, and complain that you're not getting a buzz. That's what happened to me (but with Thunder and Skruf), at the beginning I told myself that I will use one portion per day. Nope. That is not so easy with tobacco.

Store the tin in the fridge inside a ziploc bag. Better yet, use nasal snuff. It lasts forever, and can be kept anywhere.

Nicotine definitely aids in concentration -- there's a plethora of scientific evidence to support this claim. Unfortunately, it's addictive and expensive over the long term.

Try something like gingko biloba instead.

Yeah, it does give you a pretty good mental boost for a bit. I'd get weird looks, but I'd have a pretty fat pinch of Cope in during my finals (this is before I found snus), and it seemed to help me think. Made coming up with bullshit answers easier, anyways.

But yeah. If you're not addicted, put the shit down, it'll start creeping up on you after a while. It's sneaky like that.

I'm not yer mom, do what you will. More power to you if you can magically keep the addiction away

Interesting note since you mentioned studying - I remember reading an article a while ago that said information recall was best when the conditions were the same for both the studying and the recalling. This means that if you're caffeinated and nicotined out while studying, you'd do better on the test if you have caffeine and nicotine. Don't have the link anymore, but it was interesting.

That said, addiction to nicotine creeps up like anything else.
