As soon as I started snussing the cig consumption went way way down ... from a pack a day to a pack a week. I stayed there for a month or two, then went back to more cigs, less snus, for a couple of months. It was the physical addiction that pulled me back, not the nicotine.
One night - Oct. 8, 2009, never forget it - I was driving home finishing a cig and the thought hit me: "You don't need this. You don't even want this." I snuffed that cig out and never lit up again. No willpower needed, no withdrawal, just a complete lack of desire for one. The physical addiction went over time - I just avoided bars and places like that for a week or two. Very happy and grateful to be smoke free. Snus could well have saved my life.
Stay with it. Your "don't need it, don't even want it" moment is coming.
