Gustavus Original Portion....oops

Has anyone tried and liked Gustavus Original Portion? I accidentally ordered it at buysnus. I was shooting for Knox portion and added this stuff instead. I should have looked closer but since I ordered so many different thing I just assumed I did it right. Well, what are your opinions on this stuff. For someone that favors Knox portions, might I like it?

I like Gustavus. It's close to LD red in flavor, but perhaps a bit more refined. It's bergamotty, with a bit of citrus, not really like Knox. I don't know if you'll like it, but it's a pretty good snus.

Gustavus los is my favorite snus. I always order double of Gustavus then any other snus that I order. I have not tried the portion, but I also found the Grov Los is very similar to Gustavus IMO. I love the los so I dont think you will be disappointed.

Well, I liked the LD red portions I got. The citrus flavor is what seemed to hang around for a long time. Maybe the Gustavus might be like Knox and LD Red mixed together. I might rather enjoy that because the LD seemed to run out of tobacco flavor. Maybe I made a fortunate mistake? I hope so.

Got some Gustavus portions in my mix roll, not bad really. They are not top notch IMO, but the flavor is nice, not bad for a mid price snus, one I might order every once in a while.

If you like Roda or gotersburg rape you'll probably like Gustavus, which has become one of my favorite portion snus

I think that it is a lot like Knox with a little bit of extra flavors. I can not put my finger on them. Not bad at all. I say it is pretty darn good. I will stick with Knox considering it is made by Skruf, it is less expensive, and tastes very similar. I am happy that it is a suitable replacement until I get more Knox.

I just tried Gustavus Classic portions yesterday, but I have never tried the Original. The Classic has a nice tobacco flavor, nothing flowery. However it was so darn salty I could barely stand it. I could not enjoy the tobacco taste because the saltiness was so overwhelming. I really can't see myself finishing the can.... next.

I just got some Gustavus in my most recent order and I really enjoy it. Nowhere near as unbearably strong in taste as Kronan, yet has all of the good flavor tones from Kronan (if that makes any sense). Have yet to try Knox but this is going to earn a place on my mid-range snus rotation. My batch was not overly salty either. The design of the 'ash tray' lid is great too.. you don't know how many times my keys have pried the SM style lid off in my pockets!

I liked Gustavus quite a bit when I first tried it, but after a while it ended up being too spicy for my taste. It also tended to get bitter after being left in for a while, but then you could say that about most of the brands out there (I tend to leave portions in for at least a couple of hours).

Not bad by any means, but definitely an occasional snus for me. :wink:
