For all we know, nicotine itself might even cause the mutation itself to occur.

To make matters even more confusing, here is an article linking the mutation to nicotine intake!

I am sure that within the next 100 years, we will have a much better idea of what all of this means.

As a noob too I can say the whole nic thing is just different. It is not a quick hit like with cigarettes but more of a gradual increase as you use. The transition is very subtle. I thought the same thing as you (where is the nic?) at first but I kept more or less chain snusing regular portions from the first two cans I got (General Mint and General White) thinking more about flavors etc. It didn't occur to me until later that I had actually smoked about 5 less cigarettes that day than usual. After that I have been keeping a portion in about an hour to hour and a half with a hour or so in between portions. The strong portions don't seem to change my schedule but I started on a can of Thunder Frosted ES today....significantly more for my body chemistry and even more than cigarettes if you chain two over a few hours. I'll be keeping these for known situations (i.e. long meetings at work)

It's a lot of fun watching her, and the other girls. I'm not a huge dance fan, but I like watching them. I volunteer for most of the shows doing loading/tech crew. We have one coming up in June, and that's what everyone's been getting ready for.
She's auditioning today to stay in company. It's kind of a technicality, but they have to qualify every year. I know they cut one of the professional dancers for not being professional, but I imagine you have to be a real screwup to get cut.

There's obviously some confusion about the word 'mutation'.
The first article didn't specify what mutation it meant whereas the second did.
The second article specifically said the mutation was genetic.
I read the first article as cellular mutation otherwise known as cancer.
If we can get the definition of mutation in the first article then this will be put to bed.
I work for one of the two units of the MRC. Unfortunately this persons lab is in the other site or I would have simply rung up the scientist and asked him.

Offroad is a bit weak, but not terrible. the licorice flavor isn't the most pronounced flavor... the nicotine is there but you have a habitual addiction to cigarettes to which you'll have to break while getting nicotine from the snus...
Basically you have nicotine in your body but your body thinks it's deprived because you're not smoking tobacco.... give it a few weeks you'll get over it.
once you switch you'll know when you need some snus because you'll think "**** i want a cigarette" which is when a snus needs to come out the can and in your grill.

You want to taste AND feel it? Two words: Thunder. Frosted.
In my opinion, Offroad Licorice is some of the crappiest, most flavorless snus there is. But so are most Offroad portions, save for maybe the Frosted. Their los is much better. But aint a soul alive that can say they cant feel or taste Thunder! (made by the same awesome folks, btw).

I can't feel Thunder. I don't really get much of a hit from nicotine. I dipped for 10 years, and never got a buzz. I've been using Snus for two months now, and I've used Thunder, Thunder Berry, Oden's Extreme, Skruf Stark and Skruf Extra Stark, and none of them give me any sort of recognizable nic hit. I'm like lx...I use tobacco for the flavor, or perhaps I have some sort of oral fixation (no homo).

I'm not sure Offroad Licorice is the best place to start. Especially if you are switching from another type of tobacco product. Snus is just as delicious and fulfilling, but it takes a little while to adjust to and then it becomes a much more enjoyable experience than other tobacco products. I'd suggest getting some "classic" snus types. Also, Offroad is rather weak in general compared to the Thunder line, get some of those of you want a kick in the pants.

I found that focusing on the nic buzz was the wrong way to think about it. Although I still do smoke on occasion in certain situations, for me I have chain snused a variety of brands focusing more on the different flavors and such. Some were kept in for hours, others 30 minutes. This kind of redirected my head away from "where is the nic?" which ultimately took care of itself. I found myself at one point in the situation that I went the whole day without a cig and didn't even realize it. Other days I could have had a cig if I wanted to but chose to try another brand of snus instead.
This is not meant to be preachy (and not intended for the OP) but I think (as many have stated before) that patience is one of the main things people need to realize with any type of transition to snus...and in our American society of gimme gimme gimme or you get one chance to impress then I am moving on is one of the potential drawbacks to this product.
