If snus using rises in Finland they would not get taxes which they get from cigarettes in Finland.
All the money would go to Sweden.

I think that the online discussion forums that they are talking about in the article are just Finnish sites, not this one. To my knowledge there isn't much trading to Finland going on here.

I've been thinking about all of this since my PayPal post, and I'm liking the idea of bitcoins more and more. You guys should checkout sgreger's group, and add your thoughts. An anonymous payment system is very attractive, and I think the bitcoin setup is pretty good. It's gonna take a bit of faith that the system will work but that's what we have now using dollars and Euros, right? It's all just pretend money, and we act like it's worth something. The whole project could go tits up, but that's like anything in the early stages. Imo, the gamble is worth it to keep away from PayPal's ridiculousness.

The other alternative is to trade real goods. It doesn't /have/ to be tobacco. We have a worldwide audience, and other places have interesting things that would be cool to trade. Just some food for thought....
I totally agree with you on the bitcoins. Paypal has already interfered with a trade of mine.

              Mobiles 'may cause brain cancer'

The World Health Organization's cancer research agency says mobile phones are "possibly carcinogenic".

The question now is, how long are we willing to tolerate Nokia... I think Nokia should be banned in the EU!

F*cking pathetic - surely they should do something about drugs that are a little bit more damaging to society. FFS.

If this is down to taxes rather than our health it smacks of selfishness on their part. Pathetic.

While I appreciate the humor here, this is one of the ways we got fsked regarding snus. The whole report is based on faulty science, and scare tactics, just like snus. That's what happens when we elect/appoint idiots to office, and expect them to do the job of professionals. People look up to these jokers due to their position of status, but they don't belong there. They only hold that position through fraud and deceit.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

                          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Finland

...Finland has a highly decentralized three level publicly funded system of health care and alongside these, a much smaller private health care system. Responsibility for health care is devolved to the municipalities (local government)....
If you expect government furnished healthcare, you give them license to control things that increase healthcare costs. It's a direct cause and effect.

If you are for Medicare, Medicaid and ObamaCare then you are also for the FDA and the "Tobacco Nazis" that go with them. You don't get one without the other.

Well, that brings us back to appointing idiots to office. Smoking REDUCES lifetime health care costs, therefore cigarettes should actually be encouraged, with subsidies to lower the cost for smokers. That's if we're going to be honest about it anyway, and not just grabbing money because we have the weapons, and goon squads to do so....
