      It was this part of that article that got me thinking:

      "It's a very difficult problem, because any other substance that caused this much harm would simply be banned. And we, as a society, have made the decision that we're not going to ban tobacco."

        Alcohol is pretty harmful, as are automobiles. Swimming pools are very unsafe, as are showers. Let's ban everything that is unsafe.

            They'd ban it if they could, one of the main reasons they haven't is because of all the money it brings in, not so much for smokeless but definitely cigarettes, they tax the hell out of them and so many people use them, there are alot of politicians, lobbyists, corportaions, lawyers, and so on that are making a damn mint of people smoking cigarettes.

              and if they did ban it .. it would still be there just like weed etc.

                You can never truly ban something that people can easily grow or make themselves. If prohibition taught us nothing else, we should have learned that. Which is why the war on drugs is a total failure.
