That would be a good question for the ask GN thread. He would probably know how they test for levels.

Feel free to ban me if you wish but I don't care much for it, didn't like pioneer that people were raving about either. I have always gone in my own direction, a stray from the crowd so to speak, but then again I am loving the flader los so IDK.

I've only tried extreme once (from the can in the boxpass {which I'll be mailing out shortly don't worry}) so maybe I need to revisit. It does smell good though, different, but in a good way. Ill bake up another prilla tomorrow and report back.

I might not have tried this snus if it weren't for SnusOn. A trade is what brought it to me and man, What a good snus this is. The 22mg thing is why I was weary, but I new I was gettin' to the end of my supply of N&J and I like to have a sterk around. In fact, this was the first strong los I've ever had. I cant' believe I've waited so long.

I don't get the tobasco either, but it does have a nice burn to it. This, of course, I'm getting used to as well and it's not as strong as it was with the first can. I just opened another can of it and I'm going to try to have a lot of it today. It's going to piss rain all day so I think I'm going to do some cellar re-organization. I get a little pepper, but I get a real, earthy, almost like a rich soil taste and aroma. It's manly. It's certainly bumping one of the top ten in my book.

EHill, the manufacturers can discern the amount of nicotine in a sample of snus from a batch. Sure, this might have a slight variation per sample but I'd surmise the batch size would make this an non-issue. From the videos I've seen of snus production...think about one can out of that massive pile of goodness. I'd be willing to bet that the variance in snus levels is less than 1% for any cans coming out of a given batch. Consistency is big.

odens xtreme is first on my loose list seconded by skruf xs loose

one thing that i would like changed is the consistency .. if it would be as muddy as skruf xs loose it would be perfect

Then GN came here, people started trying it and gradually everyone got into it and fell in love. It was really interesting how it all worked out!
It's too strong for me. I said it then, and I'm saying it now. As it turns out, the snus is good enough, and unique enough to screw with the dosage to get it right, but I'd prefer it in regular strength. I need to try regular Odens; that may fit the bill. If not, I'll continue getting the extreme, but I won't use it as much as I would a regular.

I think the consistency and texture is perfect. I'm really not a fan of overly dense los. The fluffyness of this, plus the taste sold me.

To me, the pepper aspect of this snus is due to the high nicotine level of the tobacco, having had the raw unadulterated leaf to play with has given me an opportunity to try the straight tobacco and the result is a spicy burn. That's the partly the ultra high nicotine, and that tobacco has more of it than any other I have encountered. Heres the deal, you do not have to enhance it much at all to get at it. I.E. very little salt or PH adjustment. That part keeps a real clean flavor, and I think it is why the nicotine kind of slowly releases. Any PH enhancement would just blow your head off with a spike effect. And the Humectants in there are sweet and it is heavily dosed.

That being said I am still having issues with nicotine overdosing while using it. I have to be damn carefull with it, and have had to stop using it while working. I tried reducing the amount used and while that works, there is apparently a minimum amount of a prilla that allows it to stay together. Small doses mudslide constantly. The taste is out of this world and I truly love it. It just keeps trying to kill me. Perfect though for the young and healthy of heart. I just think that once you get strung out on this stuff, your alternatives are bleak.

Best tasting snus I ever had, too much vitamin N for me. Hoping to find the perfect balance with a reduced portion snus someday!

If anything, 2011 has shown so far through the love of Oden's Extreme, the hardcore fans of Gellivare & Landströms and the campaign to make Gotland's Plain Los widely available - people like and WANT a pure tobacco flavor.

This should show companies what people really want. Flavor is good on occasion, I'm guilty with my Flader, and I use a mint after I brush my teeth - but for the most part, this speaks volumes to consumer demand.
Yep...and what do all our obsessions have in common? They're all LOS! That's what everybody wants, and what do the tobacco companies give us?

                          More new shitty boring portions...

Los sucks. Tried it once, hated it. If it wasn't for portions I would still be smoking.

Los always tastes better than portions. What kind of los did you try?
