    How important really is moisture?

After trying (and enjoying) both the Oden's Original and Oden's 69 Dry portions from GN, something occurred to me. They appear to have near the same nic although I believe the dry portions are close to half the moisture. After wetting and using for 10 minutes or so I really cannot tell a difference in terms of moisture or "comfort level". The 69 variety does take a bit longer to develop but that may be due to the moisture.

So let me get to the point, I know the ph has a lot to do with the amount of free nicotine but it was my impression a higher moisture level (40-50%) also contributed to the nic release. If after some point these kinda even out during use then really is ph the dominant factor to the free nicotine? The beef (other than taste in many cases) against Marlboro and Camel is lower moisture and ph but wouldn't the moisture "equalization" be true for these brands too after some time during use?

I don't think moisture has anything to do with the nicotine. It's just a matter of comfort, and flavor level.

This sounds like a science question......but it seems to me that a dry and an original portion have the same amount of nicotine and the moisture is the carrier. The more moisture, the faster it comes through the paper and the sooner it is gone from the portion. I do not know if it has anything to do with the amount of free nicotine. I thought the ph affected the amount of free nicotine available and surface area of the tobacco in contact with the lip was the deciding factor in absorbtion ratr and moisture only counted for the transfer of the nicotine through the paper.

May be way off here.....I use los mostly anyway.
