LOTS of snus, only ONE I like

Thank you! That kind of reply is EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

Not to say you don't know what you're talking about, or that you're 100% right, or blah blah blah, but I've seen this happen a lot (myself included).
I can bet that within 1 year you'll look back on this thread while you're snusing a very salty Swedish snus and engaging in a thread talking about how terrible, gross, and sweet American "snus" is.

I thought I'd always use General Mini Mint, or Thunder Frosted. Now I sit here and look back on what I had to say about it a few years ago and I'm like hmm, interesting.

So just keep an open mind dude. I can almost bet with 100% certainty that your tastes will change and you will grow to hate American "snus" like the majority of us do.

On a side note - I've noticed most V2 snuses to be light in the salt department, so Phantom/Offroad/Thunder might be up your alley.

I do not like american snus. Although the first impression of it was definately better than swedish snus. Ya know, maybe everyone loves it after using it for a year because our body becomes accustomed to it. I bet if you drank piss for a year you wouldnt be able to go back to pepsi either. I am not into forcing something that has a low quality flavor into my senses untill i "get used to it". How about just a snus that doesnt taste bland and super salty. I've found one so far. Also a "minty" one. Any more out there? Phantom Brown will be in my next order. Hope it's good.

I loved it right off the bat. Never tried American snus. Maybe it's just not everybody's bag. I hope you find some more that you like.

MInTy, the Offroad Frosted is good. Not as strong or moist as Thunder Frosted so I like it a little more.
Flavorful - Goteborg's Rape, Goteborg's Rape No2, Jakobsson's Flader, Phantom Blue (I like the white portion, not so much the original).
Do you like licorice? If so, Gotland's Anis is good.

I would recommend Phantom Brown............It seems to fit the profile you are looking for and.............at least to me.................all the Phantom snuses seem to be low in salt.

Maybe others can weigh in on this.

Totally agree, though I can't recommend it in portions as I've never had them before. The Los, on the other hand, is stunning! I also really like the Phantom Classic Los.

BTW, just got a new shipment of both, and they both just say Rothbrix Brown or Rothbrix Classic...no longer any mention of Phantom...

NewYork, I noticed that your three favorites are on the sweeter end of the scale. You might try Jakobssons line of snus, as it seems to be a bit sweeter than most.

Thanx everybody. I will use all of your recomendations to help me out. Even the "keep trying it" ones. Maybe some will grow on me. phantom brown, ettan op, and some others are going to be the next order. Although I spent $48 on 7 cans and then $69 on 9 cans. Damn New York tobacco taxes. it was from getsnus.com

I love every Skruf snus that I've tried. Skruf original white, tranabar, stark, extra stark, and the extra stark los. Catch Eucalyptus was also great, but my buddy thought it was salty...I never thought that. Jagarpris was pretty good. Jacobsson's Flader portions are quite good.

I had used Camel Frost for a year or two before trying Swedish snus, and I never found the Swedish stuff to be overpoweringly salty, even when I first started.

There is nothing wrong with liking only one snus. Financially, it's an advantage, since you can stock up on rolls, which I do as well. In Sweden, the majority of people stick with one type of snus their whole life (usually General, Goteborgs, or Ettan).

I really like Thunder Frosted. The general wintergreen has a wierd sickly taste to it maybe its the flavor of the wintergreen they use mixed with salt or maybe the tobacco flavor i dunno. I would try thunder wintergreen or Jakobssons wintergreen but even the thunder frosted @ 12mg nic gives me a little kick. Anything more might make me sick. I'm hesitant to try offroad frosted because the offroad wintergreen portions have a strange cigar taste to me that I dont like.

Thunder Frosted is the only Minty snus I like, but it's also available in a los where other popular mints aren't. Can't agree with you on the Probe...I can't stomach that stuff. Do yourself a favor and try the Phantom Classic when you order the brown. I prefer the classic, some prefer the brown...

Interesting.. So it's similar to smokers (from what I have seen in the US, most stick to a certain brand for long lengths of time.. if not forever)


I myself have only been looking for something else I like, in-case they ever discontinue my favorite.
I was a bit worried since General only makes the mint for USA use.. I figure that has a greater chance of being discontinued at some point. Wish they also produced that one for other places..

If i only had a choice of one snus for the rest of my life it would definetely be Ettan.

Mine would be Grov, as I like the salty, smoky, unadulterated flavor. Ettan Los is great, although I dislike their portions.
