Those are great points. When I hand-bake, i tend to get carried away on size and wind up with a beak. My 3ml Icetool is my godsend. The fact that I have a beard that makes Grizzly Adams look clean-cut definately helps too.
Most of my customers know I snus though, so they all expect the upper-lip bump. Occasionally i'll take a pinch of dip or chew and they act shocked that im using something other than snus.
I use los almost exclusively at home, but take both a can of los and a can of portions with me to work. I'll usually bake up 2-3 prillas a day at work, but if I have meetings I'll lean more heavily on portions.
I use loose all day except when with clients. Unfortunately, I got trapped in the lift once with a group and had to take part in the conversation. They probably thought I`d just been to the dentist as I froze my top lip to stop the mudslide. Not recommended.
I mostly use portions, but that is because I prefer them. If I don`t have more portion snus left, I often get some loose snus from co-workers.
There is no "shame" in snusing here in Norway, since so many does it hehe.

That is how it is here in the South-eastern USA with dip use. The people I see at work often have dip in. They seem to have grown used to the fact that I just use my upper lip while they use their lower.
I just got caught at work this morning by my secretary. Had a little dip of Skoal Edge in. She says... 'Is that Copenhagen? Spit out that Copenhagen.... I said, I was just trying to be a Southerner (I live in TN) This lady from Mississippi says, thats not southern, its just ignorant.
I used pouches and snus the rest of the day... portions... but right now I have in a big handbaked gotesborg rape at home....
anyone use loose snus at work in an office environment discretely?
What I find the most interesting about this post...
I'm assuming that this lady, from the south, mind you, called your comment "ignorant" based on the fact that she (being southern) resented the implication (read: stereotype) that southern people are known for using oral snuff.
I submit that it ain't a stereotype if it's the truth, and she knew enough about it (again, being southern) to know you were using oral snuff, assume you were using Copenhagen, and call it by it's brand name. As if Cope is the only snuff ever to exist in the history of tobacco.
