Somebody begged me for snus today

A guy at work hasn't had a cigarette in two days - he's a heavy smoker.
Today he's begged me for some snus, so I've left him out a tin of Extreme and Odens Original for when he comes in for the night shift.

Let's see how it goes. This could be an interesting experiment for the snus ignorant British. I'll be over the moon if he takes to it.

Yea, SnusOn is a major reason why snus worked for me in quitting cigs.

Came in to work this morning and asked him how it went.

He told me that he tried the Original portion and said that just one portion was like smoking a whole packet of cigarettes - he was surprised by how strong they were. He couldn't even contemplate having an Extreme.
He thinks that he can quit cigarettes with just one tin (a bit of ignorance again), so I educated him by telling him that nicotine is not dangerous etc etc. So hopefully I can get him on snus for good - he's one of those guys, like me, who can never give up.

By the way - he said it tasted foul LOL. I told him that after about a week - everything will change.

I always wonder about this. How can people say something tastes bad when it clearly doesn't? I think it's a sign of a closed mind. It would be interesting to compare snus acceptance with other facets of life.

It amazes me that at one point in time I thought General White smelled disgusting and almost made me vomit. Now I can open a can and sit there and smell it and just can't get enough of the smell. I think it's about perception, and your senses adjusting to higher quality tobacco products.

To me smoking a cigarette is foul - and lxskllr - you're right.

My first impression of real snus was "interesting". I thought it tasted salty, and I was a little uncertain regarding the flavor, but there was something interesting there I wanted to get to know better. I've never felt repulsion except for obviously bad snus.

Man the first time I tried snus I thought...............finally some real tobacco.

However, coming to snus from dip................ oral tobacco was not a new concept to me..................

to me snus just had a superior quality compared to dip (though at first a somewhat subdued taste)
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

well its obvious to me peoples tastes differ .. Just because i find Islay Scotch one of the most Vile liquors known to man doenst mean its not a quality product to someone else

i agree with snusdog also if you were not already acclimated to oral tobacco snus might throw you for a loop .. most american brands taste over processed, sweet and have a chemical aftertaste .. Snus otoh seems very pure and fresh

I remember the first time I tried snus I found it very overpowering but that very quickly dissipated.

First time I tried snus, the only thing that bugged me was the throat burn which later turned in to nausea. But I have always liked the taste from it, and the burn disappeared rather quickly.

I really hope your English fellow starts diggin' the stuff.
