    old snus

    hello
i found some old makla (opened) and it's dry but i don't have any other snus around. i wonder if it's still ok to use it since it's already opened? how should i make it moist?

Should still be good, unless it's a couple years old. The Best way to rehydrate tobacco is indirectly, in my experience. Fill up a bottle cap off a soda bottle with water, and put it on a table side by side with the opened makla tin. Put an overturned pint glass over them, and wait for the magic to happen. Probably be good to use in a couple hours.

I'd use it. Then again, I've used some pretty old like nearly 50 year old snuff. Wowza. The stuff couldn't have been dustier and degraded to a fine scotch but holy s**t - it was like a nicotine cannon. That makla stuff has some power to it too. Shick is spot on with the hydration. It probably won't get it as moist as it was when you got it. I've had good luck spreading out the tobacco and dropping some distilled water into it then shaking it up. This gets more water in it but the downside is that it takes at least three days to fully even out in the can. Good luck, and let us know how it works out.
