Not trying to be a know-it-all, but Haiku form is as follows:
First line = 5 syllables
Second line = 7 syllables
Third line = 5 syllables
That is true if you are writting in Japanese. In English you should stay as close to the syllable count as possible, but style and content are more important. Being off by a syllable in a line, here or there, is acceptable in English. Of course, sticking with 5-7-5 is the goal if the Haiku does not suffer with the loss or addition of a syllable. I would rather read a GREAT 6-7-5 than a good 5-7-5.
