The ''Strap'' Thing

Dont know how to say it, but this sure has been debated before.

Should the side where the snus pouch is ''strapped'' together face the gum or the lip?

Whatever you prefer. Some people have a preference, but it doesn't matter. I throw the portiion in my mouth, and it goes where it goes.

I face it towards my gum, because I always think it will dry my lip out.

It's probably semantics, though.

When I saw the title of this thread I really didn't think it would have anything to do with snus!



Oh yeah, I tend to start with the 'strap' away from the gums but before long, after much tonguing, it could be anywhere.

I was somewhat afraid to check this thread myself - but thank god it's "Safe for work"(or school in my case)!
But I usually just pop it in, but if I have it in for a long time i keep the "strap" away from my gums as it can get irritated when I talk.. Might just be placebo, but that's my observation.

But back to the topic, the strap always faces gums, can't explain why but I like it that way

I always place the strap to the gums. My theory is that the inside of the lip is more sensitive and the stapless side has less stuff between it and the tobacco. That being said, los rules and totally eliminates this "dilemma".

It always amuses me to read how everyone uses portions differently. I tend to keep it against my inner lip. I don't know why or how I started, but that's just my routine. Also, whether it's portions or los, I almost always put it a little left of center in my lip initially. Portions just don't seem to stay still though. I can't help but move it around with my tongue.

Strap faces out towards lip, because that just seems more right to me. It's like the toilet paper roll discussion, where everyone knows the loose end faces out, and not against the wall... because that's what evil people do.

Just use los, then you don't have to worry about strap ons etc.
