The Snus Stain Factor

I know this has been hashed and rehashed several times, but never in an organized fashion.

Here is how this will work: In your response, simply name the snus and whether it is portion or los. Rate the tooth-stain factor on a scale from 1-10 (10 being worst, 1 being least).

I will keep the main post updated with your responses so that people do not have to fish through several pages.

I know, for myself, I dont always have a chance to brush my teeth mid-day. This guide may help you choose which snus to carry with you for different situations to prevent the unwanted brown teeth when necessary.

I have not really taken time to look in to this part of snus, but from now on I will try to look closer and post when I know more. Its hard because I use a different kind after every tin I go through and always have at least 10 different kinds on me. So its hard to tell how much does what. I will see if I can work anything out though.

I have noticed my teeth are starting to stain some and it is kinda a bummer. Anyone got any ways to try to stop the stain? I brush and use mouthwash everyday. Any good tips? Please share. Thanks

My teeth are whiter with snus, than with cigarettes

Here is my routine.

Brush my teeth 2x a day.....sometimes 3 times.

I use Targon, designed for smokers, helps remove tar from teeth.

I haven't used many different types "faithfully," so I'll only list the few that I do use regularly:

Camel portions - 7
Nick & Johnny East portions - 4
Skruf Stark los - 5
Phantom Blue los - 2
Offroad Wintergreen los - 3
Roda Lackett los - 3

Those are my opinions. Seems as soon as I give myself a good tooth brushing with some awesome whitening toothpaste, none of those numbers matter, my teeth are brilliantly sparkly white once again!

I've only tried about 8 different brands of Swedish snus so far, but I found that the only brand I've tried that has caused a noticable staining of my teeth was Gotlands Green. A quick brushing got rid of it right away however.

for white portions, grov still leaves a noticeable mark on your teeth.. so go ahead and go with orig portion or los

Loda Racket is about a 5 I would say.. Tre Ankare is a 2 more or less. The others I really don't use on a daily or semi regular basis and I have'nt noticed.
