I still love me some Skruf...maybe I just like typing "Skruf", but it is one of my favorites. Why'd they discontinue the Xtra Stark los???

I'm on the "It has changed" side of the discussion............and I agree with Eric and Shikitohno..............C+ at best………....its bitter and seems to have a lower quality/cut of leaf……….my guess is that the bitterness is due to the elevated PH levels needed to compensate for the lower nic in the cheaper cuts of leaf
Also, remember to do a true taste comparison you will need a black can and a white can with 50g in it. I noticed the change about the time Skruf went to the 45g white tin.........which was also not long after they were bought out (remember to old guys kept it at 50g)
And Lx on this one I disagree with you.................less of this snus is not a rip off................it is a favor
If you go back 2-3 years and look at the threads that talk about “your one desert island snus”………………mine was always skruf
Last year.......... for the first time in ~4 years................ Skruf fell from my regular rotation.......I just could not stomach it.When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Well then, Ansel - you'd have reeeealy loved it before!
It's certainly changed for me - but it was a long time ago when they were bought out. I don't really notice as much with the portions - but the lös has changed loads - it's much less aromatic and I think the grind is quite a bit finer these days.
When I first used it in 2007 there were only 2 starks on the market - Skruf stark and Nick & Johnny ... how times have changed!Squeezyjohn

I found Skruf much better way back before Imperial bought it out. To me it did go dire for quite a long time after the buy out but I think it has improved some since them. Not quite up to what it used to be but it remains my goto snus for the flavour and hard nic hit.

Has there ever been a SKRUF public relations dude on here that answers questions etc.???
I am a fan of tranbar but not the regular portions/sterks.
The los I thought was a little rosy for my tastes in the white can but still very good.
Never tried the black can and now I want too if it is not as flavor pronounced as the white.

I've tried stark los and regular white portions, and the stark los has FAR less roseyness, if at all.

Yes, I'm sure - because just before my second order they discontinued the legendary N&J lös and that was early in 2008 - so they must have had the stuff out for a while before giving it the chop.Squeezyjohn
