    WTF - Oden's 59!

OK... I don't usually don't post many comments about snus flavors... I remember ranting about Thunder Frosted when it came out... and then I acquired a taste for Lucky Strike white's... I finally settled down and made N&J and 02 portions my "go to" brands... well... that's changed!

WTF is it about Oden's 59? I'm not a big cinnamon fan... never was... and don't like the overpowering cinnamon flavor found in the Oden's line. Hell... I was not that wild about the Oden's Extreme portions; but, 59 is different.

It has a nice spicy/herbal taste somewhat like 02 as well as the smokey tobacco flavor of N&J. As for the cinnamon... I can only taste it if I am looking for it... spice and tobacco are the first things that come to mind when I pop a 59 portion.

Has anyone else made Oden's 59 one of their "go to's?"

    Nice review W.

I have not tried it yet but from the other conversations about it.......it seems to be a love it or hate it snus.

I think it is interesting that you do not like cinnamon all that much but like 59..............that may be the key

It seems that some folks were dissappointed b/c they could not really taste the cinnamon.

Maybey approaching it without preconceived expectations might make 59 more accessable.

I find this part odd as I always thought their cinnamon flavor was quite weak. O.o It always seems overpowered by the typical Oden's flavor I call the Oden's Funk that is in all their stuff.

You know if you name a flavor, lets say BBQ potato chips, and you can taste potato, dirt, sunflower seeds, and maybe just maybe a hint of barbeque if you leave them in your mouth long enough.I think it would be hard to come at that without preconceived notions of what BBQ sauce or smoke flavor tastes like. That is my issue with this snus, when I chew cinnamon gum I get flavor of spicy cinnamon not essence of cinnamon. So while I do agree that you should come at this snus with an open mind, naming something a common flavor and then having none makes that difficult. Maybe if I had just tried 59 and not kanel (cinnamon) I would have not been expecting any cinnamon and been pleasantly surprised by the slight cinnamon aftertaste you get an hour after you spit it out.

I don't like overbearing flavor in snus. It's a cheap way of getting people to like your product, and is devoid of any art. flavoring should play off the tobacco flavors, and enhance the experience, not dominate it. I'm a little more flexible with mint snus, but I still like to know there's tobacco in there somewhere. I haven't had the 59 cause I'm not a fan of starks, or cinnamon, but it sounds like it's flavored the way I like.

So far, If I am feeling like a los snus, it is Odens 59. The qualtiy of this snus is far superior to anything else I have tried to date.

I find this one just about perfect except for the High Nic. The subtle cinnamon blends into a great taste to me.
