I love the taste of many 12 and over snus, but they remain a big problem from a heart standpoint. Any snus over 8 has to come out when the heart protests. I have been able to tolerate the kick of the Coffee long + series by pressing them between a paper towel to dry them out, they are some of the soggiest snus I ever had, but the flavor has really grown on me. I can tolerate a 59 portion for about 15 minutes tops. Simple economics keeps me in the 8 mg range now. It really is a problem trying to maintain blood pressure on high nic snus.
Who Prefers Regular 8 mg Snus?

exactly^^
If you are have the same issues please vote and post. Otherwise it seems like the 8mg snus could become the minority very quickly. It seems like most of the newly developed snus is higher in nic and a lot of us won't be able to use them. Its hard enough to even try them much less than use them all the time.
thanks for your input. I will make sure the producers seethe results of this thread.Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I think 8 mg are perfect, and 12 mg is nice as well. More than that (extra sterks) works sometimes, but generally I think they are just too much. I just get completely sedated, weak and tired after chain snusing some extra sterks in a day. Sometimes even a few portions can do it and ruin half of ones day. In the evenings, it's perfect though.
There are way too few low nicotine alternatives around in my opinion. If there was a 4-6 mg regular sized portion that tasted as good as the popular 8 mg varieties out today (and I can't see why they wouldn't be able to make one that does), it would be my daily to go snus. Even regular 8 mg snus contains a lot of nicotine. Heck, when I smoked, pretty much as well, I got the craziest head rush, nausea and lightheadedness from a Catch Licorice Mini of 4 mg. That says a lot... The only brands weak in nicotine right now is General Silver, which I didn't like the taste of, and Skruf Mellan, which was way too dry. I'm begging manefacturers to really start looking in to making some lower nicotine alternatives that aren't mini portions...
I use all strengths now though, but I don't really like extra sterks. The only reason I do them is because of the flavors... or when I'm drinking and really craving a heavy nic hit.
PP: Don't be afraid they will stop making regular strength portions. I rarely see anyone here in Sweden use strong or extra strong portions... actually I think I've never seen anyone do it besides my friends. 8 mg is the most popular variety, but Americans and people from other countries who for example are quitting smoking often start with the strongest because they don't know how strong snus actually is. Then they get used to it.

I cannot say I have a specific preference, I think for myself it depends a lot on my mood and how I am feeling. So far my favorite portion snus is the taboca which I believe is an 8mg standard snus and the Thunder Coffee Supreme Long + which is 12mg. However as far as los goes, so far I have been using strictly the extreme 59. I have tried ettan los, general es los and skruf stark los and didnt really fall for any of them, at least not as much as the odens(which may have to do with the quality of the snus).
When I first wake up in the morning, I really enjoy a nice fat pris of the Odens Extreme 59 Los. I find that it is a very good pick me up and get your ass moving snus. When I am at work I use mainly the coffee and the toboco, with general green harvest mixed in there too along with a few others such as N&J strong. However if my boss gets on my case, or I am just feeling like a little extra boost of nic I will go for the odens, or a skruf es portion.
The downside too the stark snus is that it gets you that much more addicted. I try not too use the starks too much, as I do not want the normal snus to not do it for me. I can see it happening too, only using the extreme and then the next thing I know, the toboco doesnt even take the edge off.
So at least for myself, it really depends on what is going on currently. I love having the option of using a little more, or a little less nic, something as a cig smoker I never really had as an option. (other than chain smoking)
Just my two cents!

There is a need for stronger snus for the peeps that want to quit. I feel thats equally as important as 8mg for the regular users. Most people don't want to build up a tolerance.

I'm glad to see that for most folks standard snus is enough, or at least makes up the majority of use. I can't even do Onyx, and that would be considered weak by todays standards for a sterk. What's odd is when I started there where very few sterks, and I don't remember any ES. There seems to be a nicotine war going on with each manufacturer trying to be king of the hill.
I don't care if there are more choices for the strong stuff, and I know that some folks need it, but the standard snus seems to be forgotten a bit to much. There is little new in standard snus from SM or V2.

12 mg of nicotine has always suited me quite well coming from a heavy smoking habit :-) But I must admit I normally enjoy regular strength( 8 mg ) snus - but I prefer the stark stuff when I can find it :-) But I really do not think that the regular strength snus should go away from being the "normal" ones.
On a day to day basis I will mainly enjoy the "weaker" snus', even though it's not quite as economical seeing it from a nic-addicts POV - But I really get a chance to taste the snus rather than feel the nicotine
