Is green tea a good ingredient for snus?

c'mon... the vast majority of green tea produced in the world comes from china; not japan. besides that, japan isn't a glowing nuclear wasteland, and what green tea is grown there comes primarily from southern prefectures that are far from fukushima. so the chances of you getting any green tea sourced from radioactive disaster sites is so slim that you probably have a better chance of being struck by lighting while being attacked by a shark than you would by drinking a cup of radioactive tea.

That's just somewhat true... Some of the best green and white teas come from Japan.. You are correct that a lot is grown in the southern prefectures but not all my friend...So, I personally think its well within our right to question the use of green teas from Japan right now. I even would encourage you to do so.. Here a little quote from the Japanese gov..

". The government has forbidden the shipment of both fresh and dried green tea from Ibaraki Prefecture, southwest of the plant; from six towns in Chiba Prefecture and six towns in Kanagawa Prefecture, near Tokyo; and two in Fukushima Prefecture, where the crippled plant is located"

Kanagawa is sencha central. I've driven up alongside the Oi River, and it's manicured rows of tea all the way through the valleys. The interior walls of the school district offices are tea leaf green. This makes me very sad.

Still, with China exporting 83% of the worlds green tea, and Japan only 0.6%, I think green tea enthusiasts across the globe are safe. Besides that though, exported Japanese green tea is going to be expensive and of high quality, only consumed only by true connoisseurs, making the chances of it being used as a flavoring agent very, very unlikely.
