      Your 6 year old has a laptop?....w t f

On a serious note, please don't get her a cell phone! I have a cousin who's given his kids (7 & 9) cell phones and I've tried my damnedest to get him to reconsider. It's quite possible that nobody's brain should be exposed to cell phone radiation and it seems prudent -to me anyway - to protect a child from possible long-term effects.

      Okay, sermon over. Carry on....

Cell phone radiation is over hyped. Its not as strong as you think. There are stronger radio waves and cosmic rays that do a lot more damage that cell phone radiation.

She has my old laptop and only visit lil barbie games online. If electronics affect a child well then its a positive affect because my daughter watches tv, plays wii, and uses a laptop and is the top child in a class of 100 and is a very healthy kid. Go figure...

Me on the other hand only grew up with nintendo and im half weeetarded.

I'm a proponent of involving kids with tech at an early age. Those are the tools of the times, and the sooner they learn them, the better off they'll be. It goes without saying that they need physical activity too, but neither should be at the expense of the other.

I am no conspiracy theorist but I am a reasonably sentient thinking being. History proves that we human beings make MAJOR mistakes. P E R I O D. You can look at mercury poisoning in 1800s and asbestos in the 1900s just to name a few. We always arrogantly think we know what we are doing until it is proven otherwise. Do we seriously believe that there won't be more in the 2000s????

There are very recent peer-reviewed studies concerning cell phones that are raising LOTS of eyebrows in the scientific community. THIS IS NOT BULLSHIT.

I am not trying to be a dick here. Few things bend me out of shape, but the welfare of children puts me on serious edge. Children cannot defend themselves, they rely on us for protection. I know you're a father who loves the HELL out of his daughter and I would never intentionally imply otherwise. I just ask you to keep an open mind. Deep down I know this is me talking to my cousin who is an ignorant SOB who thinks a bible and a gun are the ONLY things he needs to protect his family. No logic, no reason. I suppose he could be right, who the phuck am I to say….

I agree 100% (excluding cell phones, of course. From a technology standpoint there like toasters anyway…)

EDIT: Just so you know: I use a cell phone all day, every day. It is an integral part of my job and I don't even think twice about it. But, then again, at varying times in my 43 years on Earth I've also smoked cigarettes & weed, snorted cocaine & meth, taken ludes and other various pills, done ecstacy/LSD/mushrooms & smoked crack. So, in short, I really don't think my use of a cell phone is any reliable indication of it's safety....................................

EDIT 2: But I've NEVER done heroin!!

You're doing just fine. You fit in here perfectly, and have upheld our tradition of not allowing threads to stay on topic for more than a page or so :^D

Sometimes it's good to fit in. It could mean that I've finally found a good bunch of folks or it could be that you guys are just as screwed up as I am! Either way, I like it...
