dihydrogen monoxide found in Swedish snus.

Significant levels of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in Swedish snus.

For those of you that don't know it is used as an industrial solvent and coolant amongst other things and can be very dangerous if swallowed.

"Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects." - so just like everything else then.

I like the bit where it improves performance - so that's why I feel so damned good then.

Must remember to get rid of my mercury fillings, re-foil my head and fix the holes in the faraday cage around my house though.

What? That has to be a joke.
Freaking water. Why try to confuse ignorant people with multisyllabic words like that?

To prove how even water can be spinned to the proportion that tobacco can.

Well it is the main component of acid rain, and most tumors have large amounts of dihydrogen monoxide contained within them as well.

In the dihydrogen monoxide hoax, water is called by an unfamiliar name, "dihydrogen monoxide", followed by a listing of real negative effects of this chemical, in a mock attempt to convince people that it should be carefully regulated, labeled as hazardous, or banned. The hoax is designed to illustrate how the lack of scientific literacy and

an exaggerated analysis can lead to misplaced fears. [1]

"Dihydrogen monoxide", shortened to "DHMO", is a name for water that is consistent with basic rules of chemical

nomenclature, [2] but is not among the names published by

IUPAC [3] and is almost never used.

I am just waiting for the government to impose a hefty sin tax on Dihydrogen monoxide.

This was actually an experiment by a grade school student in some state. He basically did what erichill said. He added how it was a key component to acid rain, showed up in tumors etc etc any place water appears....damn near everywhere. I believe some mothers of students at the school wanted a ban on the substance or something of that nature. The name of his experiment? "How Gullible Are We"
