(about to be) A New Snusser!

I'm at the local gas station, picking up a pack of my regular cigs when I see an ad on the door for Camel Snus.

So I get back to work and hit google because I don't know WTF snus is, never heard of it.

Find this site, read up, and am definitely going back there after work to try the stuff.

I smoke about a pack a day (menthols). Have tried snuff (not my thing, too messy with the spitting) and it hasn't made me sick at all. I didn't really notice a big buzz from the snuff, probably due to me smoking full flavor smokes so regularly. I do occaisionally buy rolling tobacco, drum (about the best I can get around here) and like a filterless now and again.

This snus has me intrigued! Plus I work for a major, very anti-tobacco health insurance company. We have to leave the property to smoke.

The reason I bring up my smoking usage is I see it has been mentioned by some who get "green" or a little ill with snus in some of the stronger forms or bigger "pris" or whatever. Just wondering if that's the nature of snus with some folks or if it's more about their tolerance with nicotine.

I see that the favorite snus shop has free shipping until tomorrow. Once I give the local Camel snus a try, and if I like it, I'm likely to load up on the free shipping chance.

I'm trying to search and find what I might like, but if you're willing to induldge me a little...

I'm a strong coffee and cigs for breakfast kind of guy (once again, full flavor menthols).

While I do more searching on the site here, feel free to recommend away or just say hello!

Well if you like Menthol you may be inclined toward the Camel Frost variety, Catch Eucalyptus, etc...

I'd really recommend the new Jakobsson's Icefruit as well.

Good luck trying it out. I'm an ex smoker (3 months now) who quit entirely by switching to snus.

Welcome to the forum. I am an new ex-smoker (finally), and new to the forum and snus aswell. There is tons and tons of info on snus here. The long time members are great resources too. As far as recommendations are concerned, you can't go wrong with General, Grov, or Ettan IMO. That said, there is no right or wrong, only what trips your trigger. Many members have a wide variety of tastes from high priced snus, to the low priced snus and all points inbetween. I started with camel snus original, and moved to the big leagues with real Swedish snus from buysnus.com, and never looked back.

Welcome! I have written in other threads how much I enjoy the freedom snus gives me over smoking. No driving off hospitol proprody during my breaks to smoke, I could care less about no smoking laws, my car and clothes smell better with no burn holes, no going to special arias to get my quick fix like a junkie, I'm saving money (no tax) and time. In adition to all of this, I love snus. Not only can I use it anyware and anytime, it tasts great. As to the nicotene level, I have found some snus that I don't use because it is too uncomfortably high. Snus is far healthier than American snuff, wich is far better than smokes. There's tones of research on this done by reputable sources (as opposed to cigarete companys telling us that there is no cancer risk from smoking). My wife tells me to keep my mouth shut about all this; she figures that the less people use snus in America, the less chance of of getting the crap taxed out of it. Anyway, I think your going to like snus very much. One last peice of advice; please use this site extensivly. There has been a thread to address any of the concerns or questions I have had on snus. Oh yes, recomendations... Try anything that looks interesting. I had no idea I would like a peppery lemon flavor mixed with earl grey tea, but it's fantastic.

I, too, am an ex smoker (12 years). I found it almost too easy to quit smoking using snus, but it's been 3 weeks and I haven't looked back. I was smoked menthols exclusively, but I haven't had any problems when using snus, because the flavor's are too good to resist. Give the Camel snus a try, but I would also recommend trying the real thing ASAP because once you do, you'll be set for life.
