Offroad American Wintergreen snus with a powerful flavor....

"Offroad American Wintergreen snus with a powerful flavor and aroma of wintergreen. New improved flavor."

This is a quote from buysnus.com. Wondered if anyone ever yearns for a good US wintergreen? I am far removed from that now but sometimes I would like to have a juicy lower lip dip that is not as bad for you as US dip. Anyone looking to try this? I have so much snus on hand that am not willing to take a chance. Anyone willing to review this for me and compare it to a US wintergreen dip?

    Thank you

By the way, free shipping at buysnus until 1pm GMT Friday.

I've always been a big fan of wintergreen and I've tried nearly every version of wintergreen snus. The OFF ROAD Long Cut American Wintergreen (loose snus) is the closest snus you will find to an american style wintergreen flavor, and I think it is a good product. I found the flavor to be similar to american wintergreen, but it has less moisture and is not as sweet.

I have not tried the new OFF ROAD American Wintergreen in portions yet. Unless you really are devoted to portions, I'd try the long cut loose first. OFF ROAD portions have a reputation of using sub par portion bags, but maybe they have improved that too ? Hopefully someone that has tried it will chime in.

General Wintergreen comes in portions only and is also a good wintergreen alternative. It does burn some, but the flavor is pretty close for snus.

Outside of OFF ROAD and General, I have not found anything else that even comes close to American Wintergreen snuff.

Is Redman Longcut Wintergreen snus? I am interested in obtaining a snus that is wintergreen flavored because it is much healthier than US dip. If I wanted a US dip I would go buy a can of Longhorn Wintergreen Fine Cut for $1.

          is dip snus?

Well, some people in some parts of the US have always called Copenhagen Snus. In fact, on Busynus, sometimes they call Snus Snuff. Truly Copenhagen Snuff is a lot like Snus, Salt Content and all.

Snus is more finely ground and supposedly cured differently using steam instead of fire. But I don't know about how all American snuff how is cured. Copenhagen is supposedly aged too. The Swedish Snus is way more finely ground. But you can get fine cut American--not as fine as snus though. It seems the Swedes are trying to imitate the WinterGreen Flavor that we have, but you can just buy wintergreen.

I have a pinch of Timberwolf Longcut Peach up top right now. I pinch it and form a pris by rolling it. Its darn good and you don't have to spit. If you bought a finecut, you could use your prismaster or icetool on it. Redman, Timberwolf and Longhorn are made by Swedish Match and have very low TSNA's.

Comes in the same funny round cans too coincidentally.

if you use an online tranlator: http://www.ectaco.co.uk/English-Swedish-Dictionary/

and type in Snus, you end up with Snuff

Swedish Match does distinguish American Snuff from Swedish Snus. Reports show that the Swedish Match products have lower TSNA than Conwood or USST. So, Longhorn, Timberwolf and Redman are the way to go if you are worried about TSNA.

There must be clearer studies than this but this will exhaust you.
