I started using to quit cigarettes. The flavor and variety is a serious plus. I feel like I have a new hobby. Funny how ciggarettes were a habit but snus is a hobby. LOL I seriously doubt I'd be posting on a forum everyday about ciggaretts.

Cigarettes were beginning to really mess up my breathing. I switched to dip for six months with the occasional cigarette. I switched to snus and had my last cigarette after six months of snus. I will not smoke anymore but snus and snuff are my regular tobacco choices. Occasionally I will use a chewing tobacco product or dip but I wont smoke anything anymore.Comment

I liked how it felt and the nicotine, plus the taste made me continue with it.
Never been addicted to cigs though, I really hate them since the first time I tried.Comment

Both - if I just wanted the nicotine I am fairly certain that just using the gum or nicotine patches would have worked fine. I never looked forward to popping in a nicotine lozenge but I love using snus.Comment

It got me off of cigarettes, and I do enjoy the taste and variety, and for me I've only dipped a couple of times like 3 cans total in my lifetime, so the fact that snus is so much safer than dip was a huge plus. The first place I ever heard of snus was in 2006 cnn.com had a link about harm reduction that led me to Northerner. I ordered it, tried it, liked it... but I was doing it wrong, it put it in the lower deck and was still spitting. I went back to smoking for two years, then in 2008 I said **** it I don't care if people think Im using dip and I don't care what girls think (I was single at the time). I never looked back.

I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I use it because my previous 5-6 attempts at quitting smoking never worked. With snus, I've been smoke free for 2+ years now.
