Reweiv of Gotlandssnus Julesnus & V2 julesnus in sweden

Alot of you have asked the quetion of wich snus is the best of the two and i have never been able to tell you since it´s two verry different snuses!

Here is a rewiev http://bit.ly/tFJaZf on a Swedish forum were they done a test between them two, it´s in Swedich tho but i make a ruff translate from Google here.

    Julesnus. Gotlandssnus vs. Nordströmmen.

    Julesnus

Now that darkness has settled in our country and the cold creeps in, there is still something that warms and lights up the lip. During the month of December you can enjoy Julesnus. We here at Snus News has chosen to compare and review Julesnus from both Nordströmmen (V2 Tobacco) and Gotlandssnus (Jakobssons).

    First impression:

Gotlandssnus: This Julesnus is something I look forward to as soon as leaves begin to fall from the trees. As usual, it Jackobssons / Gotlandssnus standard box that we've written about a lot before, but with Christmas themes on. The blue and white base design and the attractive red lettering lights up the room more than a adventsljus take.

Nordströmmen: A whole new snus for me. Red box neatly with white text, small jinglebells gives a serious expression that it is now time for Christmas. Combination lid on the box is large, but a little hard to handle when the happy stick, and then wonder. Unfortunately, when you open the box, it looks like a fight took place among snus and some of them were stuck between the lid and the box so they are almost sticking out. The snus was thrown.

    Information Gotlandssnus:

    Taste and smell test:

Gotlandssnus: Opening a can of snus that is a delight. Directly you feel the smell of Christmas, and especially of mulled wine and gingerbread. As usual, Gotlandssnus their normal size portion snus, which gives an extremely good fit and protection under the lip. After about 30 seconds of snuff filled the entire mouth of julsmak and it becomes almost like a little kid on Christmas who just opened a package from the site. Can be enjoyed either as an advent calendar when you take a snuff per day for Christmas Eve. Others choose to enjoy a box for Christmas food when Santa's clanging bells is heard in the distance.

Nordströmmen: The smell of this snus is a bit hard to place. After much thought and weary nostrils, I concluded that the only thing I can associate this smell is from the chewing gum Hubba Bubba. Once the lower lip, you feel that it is a bit of a chip bag effect. Just like the smell, I think the taste has not so much with Christmas to do. The taste is quite sweet, but unfortunately also a bit too much chemical taste in between. Nordstromens edition of Julesnus is a bit more of a snus can be taken after a big Christmas dinner to get a break from all x-mas taste.

    Conclusion Gotlandssnus:

    Conclusion Nordströmmen:

    Review:
According to me but also my colleagues of this page, Gotlandssnus clearly the best snus of the two. They have really managed to capture the Christmas spirit in a small bag and all the flavors associated with Christmas. Nordstromens Julesnus is unfortunately a bit of chemical flavor and this means that the score will be low.

How do you compair the two here at Snuson?

I haven't had the V2 version since the first year, but I would describe that as "too much". V2 in general is heavier with the flavoring than I like. I prefer a subtler touch, where the tobacco taste comes through. The Gotlandssnus version tastes like the flavors were carefully married, as opposed to dumped on.Everything works together in just about perfect proportion, and the tobacco taste is always shining in the background. Less importantly, I really like the new Gotland label design. It reminds me a bit of commercial art from the 40s or 50s. Whoever made that design gets a gold star :^)

        Yeah, cans look really retro!

Talking about Julesnus, I really liked the portions at first, never tried lös before, was bit afraid to order it cause I'm not that much of a lös user. But when opened the Julesnus lös can, the smell was pure heaven and the taste is much more intense than the portions (not saying that they are bad though). Should get V2 julesnus too in couple of weeks, but the hubba bubba taste is not what I'm hoping to get from it...

I have tried both the v2 and the gotlands and I really can't stand the former. As lxskllr says, the flavour is too much. But I love the latter, and am considering getting more before they stop selling it for another year. I have a question: how does lös gotlands julessnus compare to the (delightful) portions?

The salt is less pronounced in the lös, and the flavor is a little more distinct. I haven't used the lös yet this year. I'm waiting until it's time to get more snus from the freezer before I hassle with the bags, so it's hard for me to go into the particulars. As usual, I prefer the lös to the portions. Big surprise, eh? :^D

Many thanks for the info. To be honest I'm preferring lös to portions these days, especially when at home. I'll definitely try the lös version
