    Portioning Loose -

I have a buysnus icetool coming this week. Can't wait to try it.

Otherwise, I have mostly been enjoying portions. What I like about portions is you can squeeze them with your lip and get the taste. I don't tend to want to squeeze loose, so there is less taste. I don't want a mess.

I used the Prismaster on Grov last night. I decided to go for the gusto and made a portion that is about 3/4 prismaster full. It was way too big. I think 1/2 prismaster is my limit. I took the pris out because it was too much. Plus, its hard to get the value out of the snus when you are working with so much in my opinion. The middle of the snus doesn't get exposed easily and so its wasteful. Unless you are going for a super huge nic hit or something.

This morning I used about a quarter of a Prismaster to make my Grov pris. First thing after breakfast, I don't want too big a hit. I think this was just about right. Its not overwhelming me. My lip is not all full of snus.

So, I am seeing an advantage with the Prismaster over portions in that you can choose your portion size if you don't want to buy two cans, minis and regular size. And I do not normally choose minis. But occasionally I like a little bit less. Nevertheless, I think most portions being 1 gram are not that big. I have yet to get a gram scale and find out how big of prises I am making.

I wonder if the mL of the icetool can be converted to grams so that say 1mL is like a 1 gram standard portion. Does anyone have a gram scale?

Also am curious if you all tend to make bigger or smaller prises using loose than you get with a portion. So if you are a loser, do you like to make maxi size portions or do you limit your portions to say 1mL

I think my IceTool portions are about the same size as a regular portion, maybe a touch smaller. I use 2 clicks(1.5ml I believe) on the IceTool, and that makes the perfect sized pris for me.

      Am I a freak?

I find a fully loaded Prismaser, packed tight is about the perfect size. My one beef with the 3mm Icetool is that the pris is a bit small, I've got to load about 3+ notches and then inject it into my lip letting it "squish into a larger cylinder.

I also pressure the pris with my lip and squeeze flavor out... just a bit more carefully than with a portion...
