at what point will you be priced out of snus?

I figure it's better to have more Brits on the panel. They're closer for shipping purposes, and like I said before, I don't know that my tastes are representative of the greater snus market. Judging by the kind of snus that's been released over the last couple years, I'm probably the lunatic fringe :^D

My b/m store is selling General brands for $5 and I like General. The guy always gives me 50 cents off when I buy two cans. Throw in the $2.50 coupon from the General site and I am feeling no pain. It does get old though and then I place a small order for some variety. I have not checked the NOrthener prices at a few b/m in my state but if would be great if they are in the same field.

So, that's about £3.67 per can. I can make a can of that last 3 days with snuff, about £1.22 a day. If you smoked a pack of fags a day, what's that now, about 6 quid? that is a BIG difference

This is the sort of calculation I do regularly to remind myself that Snus is way better value than ciggies.

I do find that I'm getting through regular strength portions a lot quicker than when I was using sterks, though. A can lasts 2 days now, especially since LD dropped the can size from 24 to 22 portions. When I was using Skruf sterk I could make a can of 24 last nearly 4 days.

A couple weeks ago, a can of los lasted me into the 6th day, with the help of snuff. If i use the same can of Odens Extreme Loose at £3.48/5.5 days = £0.63 per day, and the snuff cost is almost nothing. Proper happy for under a quid!

LOL This reminds me of my dad, growing up I kept hearing, "if cigs get to $1.00 pk I am quitting", "if cigs get to $2.00 pk I am definitely quitting", and so on up to $7 pk (which is apparently OK). Now his cut-off is $10 pk.

I guess my point is our cut-off threshold will change each time it approaches. I remember saying I would quit as a result of PACT, now I just pay 3x the price. So I guess I won't even bother setting a cut-off.

Exactly. I wont even bother lying to myself. I am only 31 and when I started smoking Newports were $1.80 I said I would never pay $5.00 for a pack of cigarettes and once in Atlantic City I paid $11.00.

These days I keep a can of los for the evenings or when I'm on night shifts. It lasts a bit longer but it is slightly more expensive per tin.

Been thinking about this (and sorry if this has been discussed in the past)...as i make my 3 roll purchase from buysnus every other month, i see the price going up and up...without the discount every other order, it's $150 which hurts the wallet.
and buying from that site i believe doesn't have any state or fed taxes...figuring at some point the heros of the nanny state will stop this and tack on their vigorish which will probably up the price at least $10 a roll.
so, for me, when the price gets over $5 a can, i'm done with the shiat, back to grizz wintergreen...i love snus but it's starting to be not worth the cost.

Honestly though? If I had to start paying fed/state taxes on my orders from buysnus, I'd be done. I'd start dipping Grizzly again probably or start looking at other options like e-cigs, stonewall, and oliver twist type stuff.

Although I'd see how much it was with some rolls of Offroad. Those are only about 21USD a roll, but if I had to pay all taxes, it probably still wouldn't be worth it.

i live in CA so as far as taxes are concerned, i'm sure we are equal to WI.
btw scott walker rocks i look fwd to him dominating the re-election BS he has to go thru.
and i've tried all the cheaper varities...offroad, phantom, LD (this was good but can't get it stateside anymore)...and they all suck...i'm sitting on two rolls of phantom (i liked it when i first started a few yrs ago) that i have in case of emergency...the stuff just turns my stomach.
i really only have a taste for ettan or general los...and if i could find it locally i'd just by it individually...but buying three rolls for $150 seems like a colossal waste of my hard earned money.
