Nasal Snuff question for new SNUSer and ex-smoker

Two higher nic snuffs I find easy to take are Viking Dark and FUBAR Grunt.

The Grunt description would lead one to believe it is very easy to over sniff. I haven't found that to be the case. But then again I like Toast more than any other style.

Of the Toque products I would include Whiskey & Honey, Lime Toast, Berwick Brown, Original (SP Extra is harder to take but has more nicotine), Quit (for the nicotine and blending), Chocolate, Toffee, Spanish Gem and whatever fruit scents or menthols interest you.

You may not like the menthol so keep an open mind. Also there are many different grind and moisture combinations so if one doesn't float your boat another may. I have been snuffing for a couple years now and it is often my choice of tobacco oversnus....but I still use snus every day to keep the nicotine level steady.

On menthol snuff...I agree with Monkey. I bought a bunch when I first started and still have every tin. They quickly caused the dreaded rebound effect on me. Some people have no issue with it.

For the most part I have gravitated to finer and dryer snuffs. I can take those all day with no issues. I use very little snus now. One portion occasionally in the evening, a portion if I am at ball games....

Like snus a lot. I love snuff.

Yeah. I only use Menthol when I am sick before a shower or when I need to be punished. I do love the scent and liftI of Hedges though.

Got my snuff yesterday, I've used it few times and really enjoy it. However, I do find that the nicotine is not strong enough on it's own. I've been popping an extra strong portion in almost immediatly after taking a sniff. I find that they compliment each other nicely, I get a quick nic hit from the snuff that then ends up strong and lasts a lot longer due to the snus. Very nice. The smell and "taste" from the snuff is quite enjoyable also, only a couple of sneezes so I think I'm doing well.

Also tried dip for the first time today. I tried Skoal Long Cut Apple Blend, I loved the smell the taste made me a little sick after a while though. Also the almost constant spitting got kind of annoying after the first few minutes and I constantly had little pieces of the dip floating around in my mouth and the back of my throat which was very annoying. Not sure if that is how dip is supposed to be, or if I was just doing it wrong. But I think I am going to probably stick with portions and the occasional pris of loose. I also bought a can of Grizzly Wintergreen Long Cut so I will probably give that a try before making the call to completely nix dip.

I've also tried the ecig, didn't really enjoy it much. It made me cough and I just couldn't shake the idea that I was still inhaleing nicotine into my lungs. So right now, for me, it's snus and snuff. As long as it's not cigarettes, I"m happy.

I'm only about a month into snuff myself and I found the same as you - that the nicotine wasn't strong enough on it own at first. Since then I have been snuffing more and snusing less, I'm down to 4-5 portions/prillas a day, and snuff in between. I think it is entirely possible to snuff exclusively after an adjustment period, but why would you want to do that with so much fine snus available ?

I would maybe put some stronger snuffs in your next order. FUBAR Grunt was mentioned earlier - I really like this one and it is easier to take than what some of it's descriptions would lead you to believe. Also Toque Quit is excellent for some extra nic. Once you've been at it awhile, the American stuff packs quite a punch too, but are harder to take.

One thing to beware of... Snuff is damn addictive from a purchasing/collecting point of view. At least it is in my case. I have enough on hand to probably last a year but I already have another shopping cart started for my next purchase. The huge variety of styles and flavours just make you want to get more!
