Nasal Snuff question for new SNUSer and ex-smoker

Hello,

I recently quit smoking and have been using SNUS for a little over a week. I am really loving it and feel like I will be able to stay away from cigarettes without a problem. However, since getting into SNUS and doing research, looking at forums and such, I have noticed a lot of people talking about Nasal Snuff and how it can also help greatly in quitting smoking. I plan to keep SNUS as my mainstay but I am thinking of trying Nasal Snuff and if I like it, using it in those moments of need for a quick burst of nicotine.

I had a couple of questions, is it alright to use SNUS and Nasal Snuff? Are there any health issues related to using Nasal Snuff? And what brands/flavors should I try when starting? I've read Toque is good. Also a good website for ordering Nasal Snuff in the US would be very helpful! Thanks in advance for any help!

Snuff varies much more greatly than snus does. Get something from a few different countries and manufacturers. For Toque only, you can order direct from them. For a mix, MrSnuff is the standard.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered a 25 gram can of Toque Cherry Menthol and a metal "bullet" from mrsnuff to get started trying Snuff. So, we'll see how that goes. Are there any other brands that you personally enjoy?

Toque Spanish Gem is the best of the best of the Toque line up IMHO and is a must....

I would go onto MrSnuff and see what strikes your fancy, But I really like Braniff Caribbean which only has a slight hint of menthol and is awesome, I also really like Molens Latakia AO 1860 and Molens Gingerbread to name just a few of the many...

BTW: You can also order most of the Toque offerings at MrSnuff too... I wouldn't tie yourself down to just toque, But I'm not a fan of the fruity snuff and quickly found that out...YMMV.

Recommend against ordering 25 grams of anything to start. Much better to order small amounts of a variety. The snuff world is even more expansive than the snus world and wide exploration is the best approach.

I ordered the Toque just because I wanted to make sure I even liked the basic act of using Snuff before I ordered any varieties. I got the 25 gram because I wanted to make sure that if I did enjoy using Snuff that I would have enough to last me untill I could get another order in. If everything works out I will make sure to try some of the suggestions here. I have started a list.

On a side note, how is the nicotine hit from Snuff? I understand it is more immediate than other types of tobacco, is that true? How strong is it? Thanks again!

Very good advise and spot on, 25 grams of anything is too much unless you know you really like it.. The snuff world is so expansive that i had to stop ordering and just finally settled on getting large amounts of 4 or 5 that I knew i really liked...If you find you like snuff, You can go nuts on wanting to keep trying more...

Keep in mind nothing is free. Higher nic snuff comes with the penalty of being harder to take, and more burny. The strongest commercial snuff I've had is NTSU. It smells like a cat box, and kicks like a mule. It burns like hell fire, but you'll definitely feel the nicotine. I'm more of the mind to use what you like to use. Higher nicotine isn't so great if it's unpleasant to use. The higher nic snuffs I like are Americans(Tube Rose and WE Garrett). They're challenging to take due to he ultra fine grind, but once mastered, they're nice snuffs.

Yeahhh, I definitely recommend Toque for a neophyte Snuffhead, because Toque is very easy to take and get into? But I'd have recommended the 10 gram can sampler at the same time. Why? Because A)You get to try more varieties that way, and B)because 10g isn't all that much snuff.

25g, on the other hand, is quite a bit of snuff. It's what us experienced Snuffheads mostly prefer. Either way, though, if you don't take to it, you should have no trouble getting rid of snuff here at SnusOn.

And if you do take to it? Yeah, you'll want to do the Nasal Snuff World Tour at some point, and both Wilson's Of Sharrow and Bernard are premier brands loved by many of us.

Yeah, you'll be shocked by how long 25g of snuff will last you. If you get into it and start using it a lot, you'll swear you can use up that 25g in no time and then weeks later you'll think you've barely touched it. The Toque sampler is the best deal, I think, getting ten 10g cans for the price of nine, and you can sample a bunch of flavors. Some you'll love, some you'll not think much of, and some will take time for you to appreciate. I like Toque Cherry, so I think you should get a good idea if you dig snuff. But there's a wide world of snuffs out there, and I've been doing it for almost a year now, and I still haven't tried but a relatively small sampling. I thought it was a huge help in overcoming smoking, but it's something that takes a while to really master. Just don't settle in on your likes and dislikes too early on, because they're bound to change, and sometimes rather quickly.
