    Question about drip

    Hello,

I have seen in some threads and posts where people will comment about a drip associated with using snus. From what I've seen this drip is always looked at as a negative thing. Now I am guessing the drip that's talked about is when the snus sort of settles in and, for lack of a better word, melts under your lip and you get a lot of strong flavord juices. If this is what they are refering to, then I am not sure why it seems to be talked about as a negative thing as I LOVE that part of snus use. That is pretty much my favorite part, I get the most flavor and the most nicotine at that time.

So I am wondering, is there something that I am missing with regards to the drip? Is it unhealthy? Or is it just that some people don't like the strong flavors you get from it? I"ve seen people say that they will actually remove their snus when it gets to that point. So basically I just want to know, is this the drip that I see people talking about? and is it dangerous or just a taste preference? Can I keep enjoying my wonderful tasty drip?? Thanks!

how could the drip be dangerous?

you mean the saliva that drips from the lip?

the one thing I hate with that type of snus such as General Mint when it gets slippery in the lip, I dislike that part -

Well, yeah that's my guess, like the tobacco saliva that starts after you've had a snus in for about 10 minutes or so.

I guess ways it could be dangerous would be to damage your mouth or throat in some way. I'm not saying it is, I just don't understand why some of the posts I've seen refer to the "drip" as a bad thing.

I think it's a strength of flavor thing. I love it also, but I guess some people don't.

To be honest, I hate snus that doesn't drip -

          white portions usually don't drip

so in fact I see the drip as a good thing :-) and I never spit from snus

I agree, it's something I greatly look forward to when snusing and I never spit either (thats what she said!). Glad to hear I can continue my enjoyment without concern. I especially enjoy the drip from sterk and ekstra sterk portions. Thanks for the responses!

Me.... I love the drip of snus, But there are times even with original portions it get's dry( I hate when that happens )... It might be that the salt has dried my mouth... I see the drip as a positive that I love about snus and there is no harm in that drip at all... I think it defeats the purpose of snus if you are spitting... I mean why would anyone want to spit out those yummy juices... The only thing I don't care for is when the portion get's slimy and I mean really slimy and it seems that happens mostly when I'm drinking a beer...

I would think that most are referring to slimy portions, Because I have seen post that will say once the portion get's slimy I will spit it out...

If those that are referring to the drip and are spitting out portions, I feel just don't get snus....

I prefer los because of the lack of drip. Drip is okay, but if I don't have something to wash it down with I can get some heartburn. Los doesn't drip and has more flavor than whites.

I do like Jakobsson's portions as they are flavorful but not too drippy. If it drips too much I need a beverage.

                  Los for me.
