Snus Review: Wine & Chef White Mini Portion

BRAND: Wine & Chef White Mini Portion

    MANUFACTURER: Lagmark

    TYPE REVIEWED: Portion

DATE ON CAN: 01 Dec 08

MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION: This Wine & Chef snus is for people that wants to enjoy both nicotine and wonderful flavours. It's tasteless, colorless and free from nitrosamines that can cause cancer. Not even the original bitter nicotine taste is there. It's also a waterfree snus that doesn't secrete liquids or discolour your teeth.

COMMENTS: It doesn't taste like anything. Nothing more to report.

LOL, so I couldn't resist. Picked up some for my girl friend's snus experiment. Figured she could try these if none of the flavored snus worked for her. She has spent the last 15 years working in Restaurant management, so at least understands the concept. An interesting snus. Very dry, they recommend you wetting it before you put it in your mouth. There really is no taste to it. I also picked up the regular wise, but at least they have some taste.

Would I use this, probably not. I suppose if all I had left was Skruff Stark, and I just couldn't handle the harshness of the Skruff flavor, it would be a nice break. Also does NOT need to be refrigerated, so when I take my long planned trip to the Sahara desert, I know what snus I am taking. Truly a niche product.

 Holy crap! I had no idea that such a thing could exist. I don't think I will ever try it but, very interesting. Definetly a niche product.

Wise and the Vin & Kocksnus are my favorites. They are ultra discreet, and they pack the strongest nic kick than any other snus I have tried. The 6mg variety that is. Definately a great functional snus to give me the nicotine I need to stay away from cigs.

Kinda of like unsalted peanuts........what's the point, really. I know I came over to snus from smokes but I stayed for the taste. I look forward to the different flavors in my daily schedule. It should find a niche though.

The name of the snus, it is marketed at people who can't snus like normal cause it will mess up their taste. I suppose if you cook for a living, or sell wine or such, it is an issue.

Did you get this snus through Northerner?

Yes, Buysnus doesn't sell it yet, so I did my quarterly purchase from Northerner.

IMHO this snus makes no sense....

As far as I understand it our ability to taste is governed by drawing distinctions between sweet, bitter, salty, and sour (the four main flavours that nearly all humans can distinguish)

This ability is usually impaired when we are sick (sinusitis etc) and some form of swelling in the nose prevents the smell from reaching the olfactory area.

As far as I know snus cannot impair this ability in any way

Or can someone tell me otherwise?

Ps: Smoking, now that is a different story.....

Let me see if I can explain this snus since I love it. I would describe the Vin & Kocksnus as pretty much bland, yes. Take a whiff of it and it seems to smell like drywall, but it tastes like nothing really, just 'bag' flavor. It is for people who need a good strong nicotine kick, discreetly, and who don't care if there is a flavor profile to it. It seems to have a functionality similar to products like Nicorette or the patch. I have tried those two products, and they are light years away from accomplishing what Kocksnus, or even the Wise snus, have done. And since the Njette company has made Wise and Kocksnus with ultra low tsna, supposedly they contain less than Nicorette or other NRT products, they are my snus of choice. The Wise regular and Wise citrus-menthol have the same functionality as Kocksnus, but they have a flavor profile to them, meaning they don't just taste like a tea bag without the tea in it. I hope Njette will make a Wise with many different flavors to choose from.

I really like the stuff personally. I picked up 3 cans of it. Pretty nice nic kick and very discreet. I couldn't stand the word kocksnus so I put all 3 cans of it in a goteborgs can. Good nicotine content with no taste. Good stuff.
