Well, retried the LD Licorice... I'm not sure if it's the ol power of suggestion in operation here but damn I see what you mean about the heavy hitting licorice flavor.

Maybe I was just being impatient before, but I'm really enjoying it now

I am a newbie - so maybe my tastes are not as refined, but I think the 1847 is not too bad. Tastes like the LD minis that I had - just less bergamot - but otherwise a nice tobacco that's pretty robust and good nic. Just my 2c.

Me really likes it also, tastes like a cross between Gustavas and Grov.

It's made in the old Rocker facilities, but I started snusing after Rocker was gone, so I have no comparison. Rocker's tin looked pretty cool in a modern way, and they had a bunch of interesting looking flavors.

Well, I just tried my first portion of 1847 and I agree with everyone who said it tastes like windex. My first impression was something like "floor cleaner" or "hospital disinfectant", but Windex is a pretty good description too. The stuff is foul - second worst only to Offroad/V2 in my books, although I haven't tried Elixyr or Phantom yet. I have no idea what PM did with this crap, but it seems like they flavoured it by dunking it in the janitor's bucket. :? Squeezyjohn had the best analogy, I think. It seems like there is a really nice tobacco flavour underneath it all, but it's swamped in this horrible acrid taste that kills it. I'll probably finish the tin, which is more than I can say for Offroad, but only on account of my stubbornness in trying not to waste things. Never buying this again. The tin is quite nice, mind.

I have come back to this several times, I keep trying to like it. It should be good, but in the end, that off flavor thing just gets to me. Now the new Pall mall?? That stuff really is good!!

1847 was atrocious, especially at room temperature. Hate bitter snus.

Sage, is the Pall Mall similar to Lucky? Have to give it a try I suppose.

I bought a can of 1847 today and it smelled...familiar. I let the can go round the office and one of my co-workers hit the nail. It smells EXACTLY like a lemon-scented toilet-cleaner here in Sweden called "WC Duck".

It didnt taste too much like it smelled though, rather bland tobacco taste, not too good. Love the packaging.

Pall Mall IMO has a very clean, almost subdued, tobacco flavor with a hint of bergamot and salt. Methinks it is very tasty and it is what I have with me today at work. Not much like Lucky Strike as the artificial smokiness is not there and the tobacco flavor is much more mild. I'd liken it to a lighter version of Gustavas flavor-wise.

I'm on the fence, I've got x2! 1847 whites in right now and I'm liking it, I actually like it better than the regular portion, which I did find initially had a weird smell. It almost tastes like a not-as-salty Taboca, but maybe the citrus notes are also less. I wonder if metal cans are to blame? It seems many folks say similarly derogatory things about PM 1847 and Taboca. I mean, with food, until they started lining some cans with carcinogenic BPA, your food could taste "off". I remember hating canned green beans as a little-guy, for the metallic taste of the welfare brand my mom bought.
