Snus recommendations

I am very new to the whole world of snus, and thought I would give Swedish stuff a try since I loved the Camel stuff. I placed my first order and bought:

Swedish Match Tasting Kit Regular Large
Knox
Offroad Coffee Vanilla
Mocca + Eucalyptus
Goteborgs Rape Mini

I tried the Knox, N&J, General Silver and Probe and all seemed like they had way too much of the tobacco flavor. After a couple of them, I almost gag when I put them in. I do keep them in my office desk unrefrigerated, could that do something to the flavor? At the start, I had them in the fridge but then took them to the office. I hear that you all try to keep them refrigerated. I am looking at putting a fridge in but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I liked the Offroad Coffee Vanilla and the Goteborgs because they had a taste other than the strong tobacco flavor. What other kinds would you recommend similar to these? Or would I like the regular stuff if it was refrigerated?

Sorry if I am insulting the die hard snusers here, but I don't think I like that strong tobacco flavor much.

I like Roda Lacket and also Ettan White portions. Roda Lacket is lightly flavored. Ettan White is pretty mild but not flavored.

I liked Gotesborg Rape' but now I think I prefer Roda Lacket. Both are good. I would get a can of both. Maybe skip the sampler pack. In the sampler you might get a lot of stuff you just have to chuck out.

I would stick with Mocca and Offroad brands if you only like flavored snus. Try some Catch as well.

I second the Goteborg and Roda, with Roda definitely a keeper. Best tasting snus I've tried so far.

Does keeping the snus refrigerated from the time it gets to your door change the flavor much?

I haven't found that refrigeration affects most snus too much. I carry snus around with me every day that isn't kept cold.

Another option for a flavored snus if you like licorice...LD Black. It is cheap and yummy. I promise you won't taste the tobacco. I'm also surprised no one suggested Probe Whiskey. One of the sweetest snus out there, similar in level of sweetness to Camel.

Phantom Blue isn't too bad. I haven't had the portions, but the lös has a synthetic lemony flavor that's kind of appealing in a weird way.

I second the LD Black if you like licorice. Also, you might want to give Vertigo a try. It's marketed towards women, but I find the flavor appealing. They're mini portions though, and I'm not a fan of mini portions.

Hmmm. I dont taste lemon in it at all. Whatever it is, I have near 20 cans of the stuff on-hand. I just cant get enough of it.

You don't think the skruf cranberry tastes more "real" than the Offroad? The Offroad tasted kind of candy-like to me, but I'm not a big fan of Offroad in general.

I keep my snus in the fridge except when I'm out and about. I started small - white minis, then white portions, then regular portions. Give it time - I'm betting after a while you'll enjoy the snus taste. N&J and Skruf are not beginners snus.. The first time I had Skruf I got a wicked tummy ache!

Tre Ankare is a pretty light snus, although it does taste sort of like a "rotten forest floor" ot however they put it..

I never bought the Skruf. Two main reasons for that:

1) many people on the forums here have said that the skruf is more candy
2) the skruf is not available in los which is my choice form

I have never found the offroad cran to be candy. It tastes quite good to me. I will admit that the portion versions of the Cran and the blue are quite a bit sweeter and one-dimensional compared their Los counterparts.

That's probably it because I don't use Los. In the portions, and this really disappointed me because I wanted some flavored snus, I've tried most of the Offroad and I just can't get past the taste of paper and too much salt.

The Goteborgs Rape' and Rape' #2 held me for a while, but like any other snus, your taste buds get bored and you've got to try something else for a while. Probe Whisky was OK, skruf Cranberry was the better of the cranberries I tried, but I'm not a real cranberry fan.

I bought a role of the Jakobssons Ice Fruit based on the positive response here, my only fear being it would be to "minty". It wasn't! You start out with the mint but eventually a hint of blueberry and tobacco come through. I'll finish the roll, but I'm not sure I'll buy it again. The Jakobssons Yellow seems to get a lot of raves here too. I may try that.

I just cant gert into the icefruit. I finished one can trying to like it, but to me it tastes like I am chewing a piece of juicy-fruit after brushing my teeth. I have 2 cans of icefruit and a can of truimph mint in my freezer that will most likely never see the light of day again.

edit: now if they made the same snus minus the mint, i'd probably love it
