So, I visited my local Tinder Box today....

This is in Mobile, AL BTW. I approached the counter and asked the lady if they had anything new since my last visit. She said, they have General White, Mint, and a few can's of Oden's left. I asked if that was all she had. She said yes. She said that in the US, Phillip Morris was taking over Jak's and Oden's and that they would never do business with them again because they wanted them jack the price up sky high. (She was kinda pissed at Obama as well.)
I had never once heard of this. Can anyone back this up or maybe bust this myth?

Sounds like she was talking out her arse...... But could also be some kind of line of crap her rep/distributor of snus tried to sell her... Got to admit though it does sound like something Phillip Morris would do...

BTW: This tinderbox is listed on snus distribution and sounds like something Rick Charles may need to talk with whoever the rep for that store is...

LMAO...nope, she doesn't know what she's talking about. We sold direct to them and then when we went with our distributor (Phillips & King) they refused to buy from them because of something that happened in the past. Phillip Morris is NOT, and I repeat IS NOT taking anything over for us. I'll call the manager Charles McClane at that Tinderbox to ensure they don't continue saying this, lol

EDIT: The sad part is, Charles told me he would "never" buy from Phillips & King due to high pricing, but he could buy our snus brands from them cheaper than he was paying with us because I purposely cut the pricing to the distributor to avoid situations just like this, lol. I really think it has to do with a "problem" he had with Phillips & King in the past. Who knows....thanks for the heads up, and I'll call them and see if we can't get them back on board with our distributor ;-)

by the way for anyone who might care, don't buy the Odens extra sterk from tinderbox in Mobile, AL. I bought some last night, left the store and peeled the stupid sticker about cancer off the bottom and sure enough the cans expired in Oct. of 2011. I'm pretty pissed about it, but hey lesson learned. Won't make that mistake again.

Thanks GN! Yes Rick, please do! I'm telling you, the guys at Tobacco Patch (3 Seattle locations + Vancouver) tell me they sell out of snus all the time. Seattle needs Odens and they don't even know it yet (except for the 3 on here). I tried to put them in contact with you a while back but they told me they weren't interested in anything besides General. Well I think they are beginning to change their minds based on the guy alluding to the fact that they will be getting Jaks soon. I had to assume it was Jakobssens since he said "it starts with an 'S', but I can't remember the name". I couldn't think of a snus with US presence that starts with an S so I'm figuring Jaks. But if you work harder on Odens I will love you forever!

So I went to the Tobacco Patch a block away from work to get some damn General and they were out of everything except mint and wintergreen. No way. I called the Tobacco Patch in Pike Place Market a brisk 15-minute walk away and they said they had Jaks and Thunder. So I went for it on my lunch break. I got Thunder Original, Thunder Frosted, and Jaks Strong. 3 tins for $26.25. Garbage. I told the guy there I usually ordered online. He asked where. I said Buysnus. He was under the impression that it was 100% illegal and against federal laws to order from anyone else except Swedish Match direct, or through a particular "third party". rick Rick RiiiiiiiCK! lol. Let's get some Odens in this bitch! Thanks brother. Anyway yeah I told him no, I do it all the time, and it's shipped by UPS. I told him if I order $150 or more it comes out to about $4 per can, but at the moment I didn't have $150 that I could spend. The way he was looking at me told me two things: he wants me to be a regular customer, and he wants to get his own snus for $4 per can.

Lots of Mobilians here, hello everyone! I've been buying my General from Tinder Box but haven't since I got a big order of other snus in from northerner. It would be a shame if they stopped selling snus though, it gets me into the store, then I end up buying cigars, rolling tobacco etc. hopefully they can get it works out.

OK this is sooooooo ****ed up! Santa Rosa has well over 150,000 people in it and no one other than the $8 for a can of General OP tobacco store wants to sell snus here.

Wade...PM me your address sir ;-) When I heard they "still" had snus in stock, I was concerned about the expiration date. You bought from them in good faith and I shall make certain you have your fresh Odens! Thanks man

Hey all...there are other retailers in Seattle that you might want to check out. Oh, and it's probably NOT a good idea to mention to these guys that you buy it tax free online, lol. They hate, and I mean HATE online retailers in general, lol. Most of these retailers lobby their states to outlaw online sales completely. Sadly Washington state has one of the highest tax rates of all the states and the retailers have to pay this when buying from me or any distributor, and of course this is built into the pricing at retail. Hence the high prices in Seattle, but the fact that there are several retailers could play into getting prices down if you tell these guys that you can buy it cheaper at another retailer, *wink, wink*....just saying
