Not viable for a U.S. resident to snus?

I've seen people say that camel is garbage almost unanimously. I also don't see any other American snus makers.

So I would bee ordering over seas, which would get expensive and make no sense if your paying more in taxes than your paying for the product.

    Is this correct?

If not what do you imagine I would enjoy being that my favorite dips are Kodiak wintergreen and Copenhagen straight?

No that is not correct. Buying it online from somewhere like www.northerner.com, or right here in this forums snus shop is cheaper than buying it at the US stores. They are about $3-$4 a can depending where you live in the US. I pay $70 every 2 months for example and I use a lot. When I dipped, I would spend $5-$10 a day easy which is nearly $300 a month.

Edit: Try thunder frosted. It's really all I snus. It's strong like dip, has some flavor, and is well, just strong. Trust me, try thunder frosted before you try anything else if you liked kodiak. Nothing really compares (in taste) to copenhagen though.

There are many thousands of Swedish snus users in this country, even in high tax states, because of the overwhelming advantages of real snus over smoking. As far as high prices go snus would have to triple in price to compare unfavorably with the rapidly rising price of smokes. Even if a can of snus were fifteen bucks the health advantages compared to smoking would still make it a bargain.

It's viable where I live. There's a tobacco shop in Fife, WA that offers five different brands (Oden's, Jakobsson's, Thunder, Offroad, and General) at $4/can, and the girls at the shop have told me that they're selling lots of Swedish snus.

I'm compiling a list of confirmed locations in my signature (more locations will be updated as I visit them).

Well I'll have to see about ordering some online because I know all we have in Nebraska is camel. I'll try thunder.

You dint know if you can have packages delivers to post offices to pick up do you? I havea gf that doesn't support tobacco at all. And how can I hide the statements so they don't show on a credit card statement?

The USPS does not ship tobacco anymore. UPS is the only current carrier and they charge a bunch plus there has to be an adult present to sign for it when the package is delivered.

I'd recommend trying out a number of things that seem palatable to you instead of going with just one you may or may not like.

There's not way to hide it on the statement, and more importantly when it is delivered someone over 21 has to be present to sign for it. So better hope she isn't home

Best bet is get a new girlfriend, unless you want a relationship where someone treats you like a F***ing child...

Very much what I was thinking but I'm fortunate to have a lady that is just glad that I no longer smoke. She doesn't even complain about her loss of freezer space.

However, Caesium133, if you want to admit you're whipped (there are worse things, I suppose) you could do a bit of subterfuge by:

                  1. Get and use a pre-paid Visa card.

                  2. Register with MyUPS. When you get a tracking number for an order, sign on to MyUPS and you can redirect the package to your local UPS hub office. It will probably be near the Omaha or Lincoln airport for Nebraska. I use the one in Oakland and it is more convenient than hanging around the house waiting for the truck though it does delay getting it by a day. Still have to sign for it and be carded if you look young.

If you have a Tinder Box store or Speedway gas station in your area, you might try those. Some Tinder Box stores sell Thunder and some Speedway stations sell General. Good luck.

I think that I could have her home and find out that Ii have been dipping and am trying snus and not have any problems other than what I had when I turned 18 and my parents found out.after so many times they just eventually said they can't stop me it
s my choice..I just care that i'm doing something that someone I care about greatly disapproves of. So I've hid it from her add I did my parents after I had "approval".

guess I have a decision to make.

If you are in the USA talk to RickCharles on this forum. He will try and get snus in your favorite store for you if possible. It will help him if you find a store that is willing to carry it for you.

Ordering snus online is expensive, but still works out cheaper than cigarettes. General is sold in a lot of places now so you might be able to find that at a gas station near you, or a tobacco shop. Depending on where you live, however, you'd be just as good ordering online due to the tax hikes.

If your GF has such a problem with your tobacco use, point her out to some of the articles about how much safer it is than smoking (and even dip) and ask her which she'd rather you use. Of course, that's assuming you aren't going to quit completely.

I'm surprised to hear you say this, because everyone I've talked to says it's still cheaper in the shops than online. You still pay the tax online, but then shipping too and then have to wait for it to be delivered. Buying in the shops you pay the tax, but no shipping and no waiting. If you've found a store that it's still more expensive (especially in CA where you are) let me know, because I'll want to speak with them. Thanks bro ;-)

I'm surprised you're surprised. The shops I've been to have had relatively poor selections (no Oden's) and run $6-7 a can plus sales tax of slightly less than 10%. Just did a mock order on Northerner for rolls of Jak's Melon, Lab 06, and General ES los (30 cans total) and it came out to $149.66 including shipping and CA tobacco tax making it nearly $5 a can. With an eye towards specials this could be reduced a bit, too. Yeah, I'd have to wait a week for it to truck cross-country which is a pain but I also wouldn't have to pay for the gas to drive 20-60 miles or so. Online is definitely the way to go at this time.
