    POLL: Jakobsson's or Thunder

    OK...

I've never been that big a fan of Jakobsson's... in fact, I can't stand IceFruit; however, I've come to love their Wintergreen and especially their Melon.

For a long time, I was a hardcore Thunder Frosted user... and I like their Cool Orange.

If you could only pick one brand, which would it be? Jakobsson's, Thunder or something else?

I am a big fan of Original Thunder. I also like their Coola especially right out of the fridge.

Gotlandssnus. I like Jakobsson better than thunder but for reals, Gotlandssnus los is the best. Ever.

      EVER!

I have to say Thunder. I've been buying snus locally lately and if I'm lucky they have both Thunder Original and Jaks Strong to choose from. The latter is ridiculously saccharine. I don't know wtf Jimmy is putting in that stuff or for whom, but it's not for me. I go with the Thunder if there is no Odens of course

Pretty much this. Of the two, I'd take Jakobssons, but I don't use portions of any kind that much. My issue is there isn't a company that makes /my/ snus anymore. Of the snus that's freely available in the USA, I have Pioneer, Offroad lakrits, and Gotland Grå; that's it. Some of the V2 lös I like, but I wouldn't want to use it all day. I like Jakobssons and Old Ving, but... I have high hopes for Odens lime, but it's as yet untested.

An Odens los is my next los roll buy (as soon as I finish off all of this damn Skruf I bought last year. WTF was I thinking?)

Holding out for the lime as well...can not wait to try it out.

I agree with Roo on this one, soley due to the saccharin. The Flader is one of my favorites (and isn't overly sweet/contain saccharine if memory serves) but I could survive if there were only Thunder.

Would/has Jak's ever had a plain tobacco type? Most everything, including the classic, seems overly flavored to my palate

The classic original is just pure tobacco, the classic SP tastes a bit sweet to me, they do taste different. I think it may be aimed at american tastes by being sweet as us europeans like our savoury, however not all Americans like sweet and wintergreen (which smells like deep heat to me!). The classic original is still bitter and salty like a proper snus so try the classic and classic SP and youw ill notice the difference between the two.

The Strong line is sweet, while the others are traditional. I'm not a big fan of sweet in my snus, but I find Jakobssons tolerable. I especially like the mint, and find that more than tolerable. I truly enjoy that one. My least favorite is the Classic Strong. Sweet and citrus don't go together well for me, but the regular Classic is great. Not quite as good as the old Gotland Gul imo, but it's an acceptable substitute. Now if only they made it in a lös...

I actually have half a tin of the Classic and it is still too sweet for me plus it has more of the citrus/bergamot type taste than "tobacco" I may have them backwards but I'll have to try the "other" Are both available in the US?

The classic is very bergamotty but there is some bitter bacca that comes through IMO at least. I am sure both are available in the US as my classic SP has a US heath warning on it and my classic normal has the stick on ones, northerner and snus central carry them both. The SP is sweeter, the normal as you say is more bergamotty and bitter.

I have the mint to try, I like the melon every so often just for a change and have to say I love the stuff. I like Jaks anyway, their wintergreen is the easiest to use I think due to being sweet, btu then again all WG are different, Oden's for example it sits int he background whilst the tobacco is the dominant falvour, and is dam good!

The Strong Classic is main snus, Strong Wintergreen and general WP are my other two. Never liked Thunder personally. I have given it many chances and just never like it. I do think that Icefruit is the worst snus ever made though lol

I love IceFruit :^D I currently have a tin open. I don't use a lot of it(that portion thing again), but I'd be a sad panda if it were discontinued.
