    Started Snusing Yesterday.

At first I really didn't like it, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so salty! I normally have 10+ rollies a day, only had 3 yesterday, and 4 portions of Gotesborgs Rape.

I'm sick of smoking as it makes my lungs feel awful, and the nicotine rush doesn't last that long, I'm really enjoying the slow release with snus.

The rest of my initial order is Gotesborgs Rape No.2, General original, catch licorice, Phantom Blue, and the Iced Fruit one, which I can't remember who manufactures.

My gums are very sore, is this normal? the skin is peeling off a little. This site is great, I've already learned a lot from it and look forward to using it more in the future.

I've been snusing for just under two weeks, and I went through the same thing you are describing. Sore gums, salt shock and peeling skin (almost like a small open sore on the gums). All that nonsense stopped for me after about 3 or 4 days. So yeah, I guess it's normal. For me, the intensity of the salt got more tolerable with every pris/portion and eventually your palate will treat it like an equal flavor component of the snus rather than making you think you mistakenly bought a tin of Mortonsnus! Stick with it, it gets better.

IMO, your symptoms are fairly normal for a new snuser. I had the same reaction. It passed after about 5-7 days.

That said, everyones mouth is different, and when you take into account the different variables specific to each individual: oral hygene, different liquids you comsume on a daily basis, kinds of foods you eat, floride in your drinking water, etc. The results of snusing will vary. Good luck and welcome to our little corner of the internet.

The sore gums are definately normal. Lasted roughly a week for me. Sadly, when it stopped burning, I almost missed it

Good pick with the Phantom Blue! Dont listen to what anyone else says. Blue is the greatest snus ever made!

Xobeloot keeps saying this cause he wants us unsuspecting fools to buy it. Then when we don't like it, we send it to him. I may be slow my friend, but I am catching on.

Not that I can't stand Phantom blue but it is the least tapped of the 40 or so cans that I have in my freezer. Again, I might enjoy it if I go back to it in a month or so. I can't believe how my taste change. I used to hate Skruff Red portion (I think it is elderberry). Now I enjoy the stuff. It only took me 5 months to try it again.

I never had a problem with sores but I only used about 6 portion or los prises a day. You have a great selection of snus. Remember in the future if you want a good burn just buy a can of US dip. This coming from a 15 year smoker, not a dipper.

I'm getting much more used to the salty and really enjoying the flavour. I can't say I enjoy the burn that much, so I'm looking forward to it going! I am getting some indigestion, but that's much preferable to painful lungs that I get with smoking, and from reading this forum I understand that it will subside.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really hope I like the Phantom Blue because it's so cheap

No matter what, snus will save you money over cigs. It really is a somewhat unexpensive vice to have.

The flavor definitely starts coming out the more you use it. For me it was just such a different flavor that it did take some getting used to. I liked it from the beginning, but it still tasted somewhat odd the first couple weeks, not sure if it was the salt, or just the snusness for lack of a better word.
