    Withdrawals from Snus...?

So...never smoked. All I've done is Snus, every day, for about the past 8 months.

I am down to my last can of General and after that I have to go cold turkey for about 2 weeks due to vacation in Singapore...this is my second trip there and last time they tossed out my snus at customs.

So safe to say im not bringing any with me and I leave Thursday :/

How are withdrawals from Snus? I dont smoke and I hate dip, and i'm not down for anti-smoking products...

Any good ways to cope with the withdrawals? My go to product is general mint or original white so its not super high in nicotine...

    Thoughts?

Bring the snus! I brought several cans of snus into Singapore in 2010. No harm in trying, not even in Singapore. It's just tobacco, not chewing gum

I saw this show on National Geographic where they were smuggling drugs by inserting a bag in the old bung hole. Might work for snus and may even be an improvement if you are trying to bring in wintergreen.

Could you elaborate on that? Used to fly through Changi a lot ...now that I am done with cigs and use snus nothing would be worse than having a few rolls tossed.

            Was this Customs?

Why aren't you allowed to bring snus if it's for personal use?

maybe you can have some loose snus placed in a coffee bag and place it in your luggage.

Depending on how dependant you are (it's only been 8 months), it's either not going to a big deal, or you are going to be constantly pissed off and frustrated at the smallest of things.

For the oral fixation, bring a 10 or 20 pack of Breath Savers mints (10 mints per package I think). Gives you something to keep your mouth busy and they are sugar free so if you end up chomping through 2 packs of them a day, it's not a big deal short-term. It helped when I quit smoking although I did originally have the patch to smooth me out (I had smoked for about 15 years).

Call customs and ask them how to do it and if there is some sort of verification you can get in case the customs official at the airport wants to take the snus.

Snus is legal in both countries. Taking enough for a 2 week vacation should be more than fine.

                  I'd call
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I'd say bring nicotine lozenges. You can usually get them in mint. They are not the greatest, but at least you won't have to try two week without nicotine.

For my last visit, I brought a roll and customs said I couldn't bring it because there is a restriction on amount of tobacco you can bring...not sure of the exact amounts but they threw out the entire roll. =.=

I use Snus fairly heavily...usually blow through a can or two a day :O haha

Last time I was there, tried looking for Snus but couldn't find any, anywhere. I tried Pan (spelling?) and that blew balls lol so not many alternatives...

I fly out at 5am eastern so any more help would be appreciated

                      I'll try mints

If it helps...I'm flying into Jakarta but I have a stop before that in Kuala Lumpar (cheaper tickets = more stop overs :'()

You'll probably get away with hanging. First offence.

Apparently, the rules for bringing snus to Singapore has changed. It says this on the Swedish ambassys website:

"Det är inte förbjudet att införa snus till Singapore. Man måste dock betala tull för det som man för in, oavsett hur liten kvantitet man för med sig. Singapores tullmyndighet har informerat ambassaden om att tidigare regler om införande av snus till Singapore har ändrats."

                          Which translates too:

"It's not forbidden to bring in snus to Singapore. Although, you have to pay a toll fee for the snus you are bringing in, no matter how small the quantity. Singapores custom service has informed the ambassy that the previous rules regarding bringing snus to Singapore has changed."

They also state: "Please be informed that all varieties of snuff, whether moist or dry, are classified under HS Code 2403.99.40. Goods classified under this code are dutiable at $352 per kg."

                          http://www.swedenabroad.com/sv-SE/Am...Singapore-sys/

So you can bring your snus, but bring some money as well.
